Dave Doolittle's Tap Room & Grill — Restaurant in Dartmouth

To start me and a friend sat down and ordered 20 wings and calamari, 10-15 minutes after we where seated another large family came in and some how they got there very large order of wings to their table before we even received our calamari appetizer which made us quite unhappy (and calamari was incredibly bland) then when our wings arrived I asked for a side of blue cheese sauce and my friend ordered ranch and she left and came back out and brought drinks to the table beside us and told us she would be back with our sauce because she forgot, then she came back again and my friend asked for a beer and I got a water, and asked again for our sauces and she said she would be right back with them, she proceeded to bring us both back a beer and I reminded her I didn’t ask for beer I just wanted water, so she brought that back and forgot our sauce for the third time so we didn’t even bother to ask again. Then when we finished our food no one came to our table for 15 minutes so we had to go find our server and ask for the bills and when she brought them over to us she had both of our bills wrong and when we informed her of this she just took out a pen and changed the total, after leaving and doing the math we both ended up over paying. The server never once checked to asked how the food was when we where very displeased. All in all it was a VERY annoying and upsetting experience. During Hfx Burger Bash, we went to Dave Doolittle's for the featured burger. We each ordered one and added a side of fried as the burger was alacarte. My son and I also had a drink from the bar. The burgers were good, homemade patty, not a great one, but it was moist, and the bourbon jam was really tasty. The burger was a little small but good non the less. The fries were fine, but they were the frozen, coated fries with the crisp coating that isn't crispy. The atmosphere was crap but it's an old rundown bar, so what are you gonna do. Anyway, the weird part was, when the burgers came my son was presented his burger, and I got a plate with two burgers placed in front of me with the side of fries in the middle. This would be fine if there were only two people at the table, but my wife, who also offered a burger was relegated to eat from the plate in front of me. I asked for a plate for my wife before the server left, who promptly returned with one. I didn't give this establishment a high rating, but it was what I expected.
