Honestly not bad. The ordered a few dishes, egg rolls, hot and sour soup and a black bean beef dish. The egg roll was good, well filled and reasonably priced. The roll was crispy but not hard. The hot and sour soup was excellent. Had BBQ pork slices in it and lots of wood ear. It had a good tang! The black bean beef stir fry. This was ok, the ratio of peppers and onion to beef was a bit much. The portion size was good but really could use more beef and less peppers. The black bean sauce was excellent though, salty good blackbean! Service was top notch! They were quick and courteous, and exceptionally thoughtful. They brought us spare soup bowels to share and seperate plates for us to share the dishes. Interior was very good, felt like an older chinese restaurant, but otherwise clean and well spaced. The fish tank at the centre of the restaurant was also a nice touch. Parking, it's all street parking in the area but that is par for the course as it's downtown.

My first week in Dartmouth, went out to eat with two of my friends. Food was horrible, we ordered chicken Chowmein but they brought beans sprout a few pieces of dried and stale chicken stuffed in soy sauce. Other foods like egg rolls, fried rice were stale too. We asked server (server was nice) to change it but instead Chinese lady came and said she can't do anything. Food was horrible at its best. The worst restaurant experience in my life. At this point they should realise how bad their food is and close down the restaurant. We ordered: Dinner for 3: $65 Drinks - 2 diet coke: $7 We asked hot sauce but they charged for that as well: $1 Total bill was $80 but we barely ate anything. We are outgoing and we don't mind paying for food , but this is absolutely scam. I urge everyone reading this review, please please stay away from this restaurant and save your money. If I have to rate, food is absolutely 0/5. Please close down.

I ordered vegetable chop suey which should be celery, carrot, bok choy, broccoli, pea pods, onion, etc or some combination of VEGETABLES. What i got was a big ol container of bean sprouts. Also I ordered chicken chow mein which should be NOODLES. NOPE! Guess what I got? Yep! A big ol container of bean sprouts again. Worst waste of $70 ever. When I called they said they weren't going to do anything about it so I highly recommend choosing a different restaurant who cares about their food and their customers!

Very disappointing, especially considering I didn't even get the food. The woman who mans the phones (Sunday evening) seems incapable of understanding basic ordering processes. I ordered a $50 meal in which she took down all details including my address, phone number and name seemingly without trouble. I waited an hour and half and when the food hadn't arrived, I decided to call and get an eta. First, she tried to hurry me off the phone with the generic time frame of 45 mins. I had to press her to understand that I had AlREADY ordered and it hadn't arrived, long past the 45 min mark. She took my name and then, rather than take the time to ensure my order had been processed and filled properly, she proceeded to just check if there were any orders sitting around. When there weren't, she simply came back on the phone and said the order is "gone". I had to clarify with her what that meant - "it's out for delivery". Well it wasn't. I never got my order. What angers me most is not that she failed to do the basic task of her job by taking down my order, but more so that she was too lazy to bother to actually help me when I called back. Rather than take a few moments to actually check on my order, she told me it was on it's way. I could have gotten over it if she'd at all tried to offer some level of customer service. Instead she let me sit around for 3 hours before I finally just ordered a pizza....

Ordered takeout for my nephew to pick up and I put his name as the pick up person for the order. He arrived to pick up the order and was told that there wasn’t an order for him. He waited one hour for the restaurant to figure out that they did in fact have his order. I had sent him the text confirmation and he had the phone number of the order but it still took the restaurant one hour to determine that they did in fact have the order which by then had been sitting for one hour and was therefore stone cold when it was finally given to him.

Update. Nephew ate his General Guy Chicken and let me know it was not at all like the chicken on the website and that the sauce was not good at all. Probably tasted worse due to the fact it was cold. I haven’t received feedback for the 2 combo plates that the others ate.

Restaurant food is expensive. I am not happy when I feel like I have wasted my money.

I always add a tip on take out orders, but I wished I had not rewarded this negative experience with a tip.

We have ordered take out from Modern Orchid Dartmouth Crossing for pickup by another party and have never encountered any problem.Their food has always been hot and delicious and very...

Ordered Beef and Broccoli, 6 Egg Rolls, Fried Rice and Chop Suey, received no fortune cookies. The Beef and Broccoli was 5% Beef, 70% broccoli and 25% onion, all very soggy, all very tasteless and extremely dry. The rice tasted like Oven cleaner. Egg Rolls were cold. Chop Suey wasn’t all that bad but not enough to save a $55 meal. The worst part is that I have ordered from here before and really liked it, now I’ll never take my business here again. You cannot seriously expect me to pay an arm and a leg, get fed worse than my dog (who ALSO didn’t enjoy any of it), and not even throw in any fortune cookies. To circle back to that, how is that even possible? Literally everywhere else you pay that price they would throw them in. We’re talking like a .50 cent bit of sugar here. Really not asking for much. Needless to say, the whole experience was awful and I will not be ordering ever again. Would give 0 stars if possible. Tempted to try and get a refund.

EDIT: Forgot to mention there was no cutlery either. Not a problem since I had some obviously, but...
