Read moreWell…I wish I could say this place was great but to be honest, it was very very bad. The seaside martini tasted like salt water and alcohol (oyster was yummy), my out of office was not bad but nothing mind blowing. We ordered the bread with yeasted honey butter, bitter greens, scallop crisp, beef tartare and bone marrow.
Bread was very soft with a yeasty butter that lacked any bit of honey. The bread itself was very light, like a salty cake, which wasn’t what I expected for a brioche. 4/5
Bone marrow: I haven’t had a lot of experience with bone marrow to be honest but the overall taste was wet rags, it tasted and smelled like wet rags. I’ve thrown away raw beef that smelled the exact way because it was rotten. There is no way in hell that’s what bone marrow should taste like. My boyfriend who is less picky also didn’t like it but helped finished it. Unless you like rotten meat flavors, DONT GET THE BEEF MARROW. -5/5
Scallop crude was really good. Fresh high quality scallops in a delicate sauce, was very saucy. Had one chip that was basically complete salt but everything else was great 5/5
Beef tartare: the beef also tasted fresh and high quality BUT it was overly salty again. Edible in morsels. Chutney was fun. 4/5 needs less salt
Bitter greens: again fresh high quality ingredients but SO salty. Could not finish at all. 1/5
Im sorry but I would not come again. Servers were very nice, did arrived late (so sorry) and still gave us a high top for 4 (Saturday night)
Maybe after a year or two when the chefs get their salt under control I’ll try again. But for now, there are plenty of places that offer great drinks and food.
Forgot to add: decor is very cute and cozy (upstairs is more cozy) maybe it’s a good place to get a glass of wine. I’d rather grab a cocktail at...
Read moreSip is a fantastic spot, certainly on the fancier end of the dining spectrum but absolutely worth it. We loved the Wagyu and the carrots, and also enjoyed the scallop crudo and beef tartare. The cocktails we ordered were very good and the wine list is impressive. The service was excellent; the sommelier hustled to make sure the wine we ordered arrived with our beef.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is really great, but if I have one complaint about the spot it’s that there are a few tables for two that are placed in a glorified hallway. Despite making a reservation well in advance we were seated there and it did take away from our ability to enjoy the vibe and it felt like a bummer considering how expensive...
