My first experience at Smitty's Family Restaurant in Dartmouth was absolutely delightful. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out for its excellence. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.

Apparently this is my first time dining in since the menu change, any time I've ordered the chicken tenders i get 5 peices of chicken tender and enough fries to make a meal. I got 4 tenders and a seriously embarrassing amount of the thinnest oil soaked fries where the highlight was how much white of the plate you could see. I love this restaurant and the owner lady but for $14.49 I don't feel there was any value on the plate, as I was leaving i was shocked how many huge lush looking hash browns a small girl had on her plate compared to the very small steel cup of thin fries I received. I realize Covid is causing strain but when meal quality and portion size takes a hit I feel less inclined to visit in the future, others restaurants / bars put way more on the plate for the same cost or less. My grandfather and I both normally get the Penne con Polo but we both have alternatives for when we don't want the pasta. Grandfathers roast beef filled the plate you could only see the edge trim... I'm now home looking for something else to eat. Again love this place but tonight I'm a bit...

Ordered the cinnamon pancakes for myself and they were sooo good! Huge portions. I ended up giving a pancake to my man so he shared some of his hashbrowns. He had the eggs benedict with homestyle hashbrowns Beautiful moment of sharing and caring ;) lol! Was super busy as we were there 11:30am on a Sunday but they moved people through at a good pace and the food was hot and fresh. Free coffee refills are a nice touch. Waitress was friendly and checked in to make sure all was well. Overall great meal and good experience. Only negative was the hostess needed a little more customer service skills or maybe a job change. She was the only one not able to be positive and helpful during the busy period.
