We ordered 5 different maki-type rolls. Cream cheese and mayo seemed VERY predominant on the menu, and they are not ingredients I seek out in my sushi. Otherwise it was good, and well presented. We ordered from a takeout menu we obtained from the restaurant a couple of months prior, which included some discount coupons, as well as a Maki roll I was told they no longer offer. While placing the order on the phone, the staff member told me to "hold on" while he spoke to someone else in the restaurant. They seemed to chat for a while about nothing to do with my order, and when he finally came back I had to repeat my last few items. When I arrived to pick up the order I was told they don't honor the coupons any more. I asked for a new copy of the takeout menu and was told they haven't "finalized it yet" and didn't currently have one. I asked if I want to order takeout, how do I find your most UTD menu - must need to go to your website? Was actually told "No, it's not up to date either. You have to go to Uber Eats."!!!!!!! Helluva way to run a business.
We will go back to getting our sushi in...
ย ย ย Read moreCheck my other reviews. Rarely do I give a 5! But we really enjoyed Koshio. The food was delicious. The prices were very great. The presentation was a 10/10. My friend and I shared the Ko Combo, added a yam roll, ordered an extra miso soup and some dumplings and it was more than enough food. The dumplings came with some kind of spicy sauce that was different than I've had at other sushi spots around the city. We had our miso spicy too and it was the perfect amount of heat. We also shared some edamame that came out piping hot. (It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine when they come out luke warm). The service was fantastic and the presentation of our sushi rolls was so pretty. The server poured dry ice into a little container and we got a little smoke show over our perfectly places sushi. I went with a friend but this would be a lovely place to go for a date night. Our bill came to less than $50 for the two of us and we were given 10% off for dining in. So nice of them. This definitely will be a new sushi...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is a relatively new sushi restaurant in town, and though the area has a few sushi options already, I love that they bring something new! They offer unique, creative dishes, and their service is friendly and attentive. The plates and bowls were beautiful and added to the experience. They offer a selection of Japanese alcohol you don't find often around here, like varieties of umeshu and flavored sake.
To comment on a few of the dishes we tried... as a starter, the tofu dengaku was delicious with its soft tofu and flavorful sesame sauce. The karaage with the plum powder was something different and the combination of sweet, salty and tart was very nice! We tried the Wagyu sushi and it was a lovely melt-in-your-mouth treat! The curry roll was a creative, delicious, and filling special roll, with all the flavors and textures of Japanese curry.
There were lots of other things on the menu we're looking forward to...
