Whiskey's Lounge — Restaurant in Dartmouth

Came across the ferry from Halifax, walked around looking for the most local down to earth bar and found it here.

I ordered fish n chips. Food was okay, service was pretty bad. Had to ask 3 times for salt. After asking 3 times very politely and being 3/4 of my meal I just got up quietly and got my own salt. Why keep asking politely it wasn’t coming.

Why 5 stars anyways? The local group of people there had a real sense of humour super down to earth the type of people that just seemed super fun. By simply sitting eating fish n chips I caught an earful of jokes.

Just a great energy here and it really made the town seem super friendly. Should have stayed longer. I would come back here to specifically support the local bar.

Wish I could rate more than one star since I’ve heard great things about this place but after todays experience I really can’t. This was the first time we’ve been there and we ordered two burgers. After about a 40 minute wait we asked to pay for our drinks and left hungry. It was not busy, it was only us and one other customer waiting for food. I might add that the other customer was served before us even though we arrived 10-15 minutes before him; this was when we asked for our bill. Went in for lunch, 2 other people in the place. The waitress walked by me to take a bill to another table, dealt with them, then went back behind the bar to take the machine back. She then started polishing glasses. I was staring right at her and she polished away. Then she walked by me again to clear off a table. I was there ten minutes and not even acknowledged.
