For starters, I would remove the name Santa Fe. This restaurant was attached to a motel. Secondly, the interior was extremely extremely outdated. There is comfortable and cozy, and then there is dull and dreary. This was dull and dreary. Parking there was ample parking. Now as for the food. I don’t know but when I went to the one in Pembroke the chips and salsa was complimentary. They made you may 4.00 for them here. For me, the refried beans were extremely bland, the chimichanga I ordered was actually pretty good, the rice also was very bland. The little salad was good. My spouse ordered penne jambalaya. He wasn’t overly impressed with it and ended up with a huge chunk of fat that he left on the table. The service was ok. The lady was friendly but what did not impress me was the fact that while we still had our plates the waitress grabbed our Parmesan off our table and handed to another table without even wiping it down. We came here as I was craving Santa Fe as we no longer have it in Pembroke and can confirm we will not be returning to this location. 56.00 for both our meals, plus the tortillas and salsa and we got only water. Personally change the name to pub or something. But that’s just a personal opinion seeing as they seem to have many regulars...
Read moreBasic meal. Nothing exciting. I got a wrap and fries.
Location is decent but the interior needs a MAJOR haul. Very outdated, smells like a basement. Stained ceiling, very old booths with fabric.... Lord only knows what disgusting spills and bacteria are in the cushioning in the seating.
My water tasted stale. Straight tap water, lukewarm. I did ask for ice after my first sip but even then, my water was still disgusting i couldn't bring myself to drink it.
Tasted my husband's Caesar and it was just as bad!
Waitress was VERY kind.... But please please please renovate this place and get some kind of system for your water. I dont mind tap water.... But i dont know if the old plastic cup is what made it taste weird?... It certainly looked like those cups have been the same since day 1. Plastic is porous, they likely need new cups. Get glass ones! Much better and not porous!
For a local place id like to support, at this point in its current state... I cannot support your business and will not...
Read moreWe've only been in Deep River for a few months, and hadn't tried this restaurant yet. Yesterday, as it was very cold, I thought I would try their chilli for my wife and I. I got it to go. They advertise a cup for $6 and bowl for $8. What you see in the pic is a bowl for $8. When I got home and opened the bag, my wife and I had to give an involuntary laugh at the size of the "bowl". It reminds me of the Styrofoam side containers you get coleslaw in at KFC. The chilli itself wasn't as thick as I prefer, but that's fine. My main complaint would be the size of their chilli portions and the price they charge for it. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd expect to pay more than $4 for a bowl that size.. not $8. And if this was their "bowl" size, I can only imagine what size their $6 cup is. Neither one of us is going to be in a hurry to revisit this restaurant based on this.
[Edit] Sorry for the same photo 3 times... Google didn't show the photo when I uploaded it so I didn't...
