Ramie's Greek Restaurant - Delta — Restaurant in Delta

I went here for dinner March 19th, 2017. We learnt about them from the Delta magazine and we were excited to try some great Greek food. We had an excellent server. She was nice and helpful. We put our appies order in which was 2 orders of Calamari and shortly thereafter after our dinner order. We received the appetizers and it was so very disappointing. The calamari was so tough and rubbery, and had very little flavour. The only reason why we ate the one plate is that we were starving. We told our server and she was very apologetic and offered to make a new one but we just wanted our main meals. When we arrived at the restaurant (5:05pm ish) there was only 2 other tables with customers seated. A few more families showed up while our orders were in. Our food did not come out until 6:15pm with no explanation. Our server was serving most of the tables while another male server chatted one table up. I felt bad for our server as she was clearly all over the place. Once our meals came out I had the spanakopita meal which was too salty to eat and my potato was raw (discovered that at work the next day), one friend ordered the prime rib special which was raw and well done?? and so fatty, so she took it home for her dog then found out it was 25 dollars. The chicken Slovakia was apparently pretty good. All in all our server was great but the food was not good. We have not been to this restaurant for a while but decided to try it again. We went before with the previous ownership and had pretty much the same experience at that time. I phoned and made a reservation and asked them if they do a little something for birthday people and I was told yes. When we arrived, the staff were friendly as they always have been but when the orders were placed, I made mention to the server to have the Birthday gal order first. That was my reminder to him. No acknowledgment by the restaurant was even made which was a disappointment to all eight of us. On another note, we ordered some Calamari for appetizers and we ran out of Tzakiki dip. I had to ask for more and was told that we had to pay extra for two little containers at $2.00 each. I found this so tacky as we already had a large group of people and the prices are already on the high side. So in conclusion, don't go to this place if you think that they will do something for a birthday or any other celebration because they wont. Also, don't order extra dips as they will ding you for that too. The service was okay but had to keep asking to fill our glasses of water considering the place was not even full at the time. What a treasure this family run restaurant is! They have date night Wednesday and Roast Lamb Sunday, plus others. Prices for the quality of food is great; and even better for the portion sizes. Bring your appetite as Maria and her family are like many European families who love to stuff your tummy. They are attentive while not intrusive (this was our date night). I enjoyed the roast lamb thoroughly, so tender my fork struggled to transport it. Cooked perfectly. Pita bread was light and fluffy, just the way I like it. We were too full to have dessert but a slice of cheesecake went to a nearby table and it was generous of portion and looked delicious. Note families are welcome here but children's menu only has a few items including a grilled cheese sandwich (which was tempting even for this adult). Definitely worth discovering!
