So.....let me start by saying I spent 4 years working at Harvey's and swizz on avenue road in Toronto......
I live in bracebridge now and have been for many years.....
While working there I always made sure the chicken was never under cooked or over cooked and bones were removed......if the chicken was under or over I would never serve it.....and of course checked the bill to make sure everything was in the bag that was ordered ......nothing worse then getting home and having items missing , specially if children are involved.
Since the swizz has been here in town I have gone 4x......
Each time I have gone there......the chicken was burnt on the outside and still pink in the middle......which means you're oven temp is to high ok...you need to fix that......and.......they have forgotten the poutine order......all four times....
It's on the bill ok and on the screen on top.
they no longer serve the swizz sandwich on a bun now and it's just reg white bread......which is rather disappointing .........
The bread I just got....just to give you a idea here.....I placed my drink by my sink ok , it was so stale and hard , That I was littery able to knock my drink over with the peice of bread by hitting it.......idk how anyone making that sandwich could not feel the bread was so hard and how they let that go out?
If I ever let food out in the condition in which I got tonight?.......I would be fired on the spot! , no questions asked.
Rather then going to swizz , I would highly recommend you go to the independent , get there chicken for 10.99 then buy the powdered swizz sauce and do it yourself.

Read morePicking up family fries and a large chalet dipping sauce. Fries were undercooked. Order got lost so they had to resubmit. I wish this could have been ordered using the app but no option re the family fries.
UPDATE 2025-08-04 - I am at a loss to obtain any degree of satisfaction from this location. Our latest order was very simple. A family order of Chalet Fries with includes the 12 oz chalet dipping sauce plus one extra 12 oz chalet dipping sauce. The last time we were in (see previous review above) with the exact same order the fries were under cooked and almost raw. Today I asked if the could please make sure the fries were correctly cooked. The cashier said "oh you want your fries WELL DONE".... I replied "No, I neither want them to the under done (raw) nor over done (crispy), please just cook them properly". Arrived home with our order and guess what? YES THEY WERE OVER COOKED AND CRISPY. I give up. Dumped the fries and swore I will never visit this location again. Note I have been a Swiss Chalet Customer since 1972 (53 years) and a customer of Harvey's since 1968 (58 years). What is wrong with this location that they continually fail to produce what should be an excellent product. Most of our neighbors refuse to go there due to bad experiences as well. Read moreWe contacted head office about a disaster of a delivery experience with this store. Head office after taking weeks to get back to us (after being promised a 48 hour response), outright lied saying the issue was our credit cards and they don’t take our kind of credit cards… aka a Canadian Visa or a Canadian Mastercard, or Apple Pay. Both cards we attempted to use that kept erroring have been used in store at this location and online before with them. When the delivery driver arrived she told us they never carry machines and cash at the door was the only payment they accept. Again the response from head office was a lie saying we didn’t turn it on at check out so that’s why the driver didn’t have a machine. What happened to “honesty is the best policy” a quick “we’re sorry our system wasn’t working” would have been better than blatant lies and customer blaming. Head office response:
Our Team have reviewed your order history in our system and have found that the problem was related to the specific credit cards that were used. Unfortunately, our system is unable to process those cards as a pre-authorized method of payment.
