Used to be one of my favourite restaurants, but I don’t think I’ll be back. Came in at 7 in a Friday, and asked to be seated in a booth, but was told By the host/manager that the booths in the front were reserved, and that the other booths were being held for groups of five or more. Since we were 2, we couldn’t sit there. Two hours later, nobody ever ended up sitting in any of those booths. Ordered the arancini; on the menu it says prosciutto inside. They’ve changed it to food service junk. Rice balls were hard on the outside, steaming hot from a microwave but still cold on the inside, with some sort of liquid cheese, and chunks of basic ham, not cured prosciutto. Ordered an old-fashioned, got a glass of whiskey with ice & water in it; no Bitters, no simple syrup, and no orange…Just a lemon on the rim — If you don’t know what it is Google it! Or ask the customer! And if you don’t have simple syrup, then just say you can’t make the drink, I’ll order something else. Pizza was OK, nothing bad to say about that. Was asked if we wanted bread and butter, got these two pathetic ciabatta buns in a metal bowl, with no lining in it. Junk dinner for two, for 130 bucks plus tip. Your restaurant was half empty on a Friday night — if not for two large groups, it would’ve been a Ghost Town; if you’re asking yourself why…Read this review again

Two friends and I recently had lunch (on St. Patrick’s Day no less) at Monza Enoteca Pizzeria Moderna on St. John’s Road North in DDO (Dollard-des-Ormeaux), Quebec. The restaurant was very quiet when I arrived and I was seated at a large booth, pending the arrival of my two companions. One of them arrived and seated himself in the front of the restaurant. The waitress was savvy enough to check that he was part of my luncheon party and offered to relocate me to his table. That showed me that our waitress had a proactive approach to customer service. When our third colleague arrived, they ordered the chicken special and another salad special from the menu. I ordered the pizza carnivora which was a thin-crust pizza with crumbled sausage, pepperoni, pancetta and mozzarella. It was a very tasty pizza. Even with a non-alcoholic beer, the total for my lunch was under $ 35.00, which these days for lunch is a bargain. This is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant and both the service and food have been outstanding. I would recommend trying it if you’re in the neighbourhood.

Seems like a pretty standard Italian restaurant. They have a pizza oven, make Neapolitan pizzas, and offer pastas and other typical entrees. We had the Capricciosa and Calabrese pizzas. The Capricciosa was on the salty side, and gave the impression that the toppings weren't cooked in the oven with the pizza itself. It was still enjoyable. The Calabrese was very tasty and also very spicy, easily the better of the two and I would order it if I came back. The cocktails are a decent price, though the ingredients for some of them seemed odd. Many had a "sweet and sour" premixed ingredient in the descriptor, which isn't something I usually look for with a cocktail. The staff were kindly, though didn't seem very engaged with us and perhaps gave the impression that they were impatient for us to make an order? There was nothing unprofessional however, just an energy. Might come back to try other pizzas, but it is not an establishment that excited me. It was an enjoyable but average meal.

HORRIBLE, RUDE, APATHETIC OWNER!! Last week my boyfriend ordered pasta for pickup, but mistakenly ordered the wrong one. When I called to let them know about our mistake, the man I spoke to was super duper nice. He said he could tell my boyfriend wasn't sure which one to order, and that if we wanted, we could come back and get the correct one. Unfortunately it was about 9:30pm, so he said if I wanted I could take a credit instead. Wow amazing! I said thank you so much and I would be sure to to leave a very positive review! So tonight we decided to have a nice date night. My boyfriend texted me to say he was surprising me with my favourite wine. It was our 6 year anniversary on the 21st, and we were going to have a nice quiet celebration at home. Come to find out when he gets to the restaurant, the OWNER said that there was no credit. When my boyfriend called to tell me he sounded very upset, so I decided to call myself since I was the one the credit was issued to over the phone. The owner was rude, unhelpful, talked very loudly over me, I had to ask him THREE times to let me finish speaking. Then he had the audacity to say it wasn't his fault the employee issued a credit he wasn't authorized to, and that he would not be honoring it. I explained I would have received the pasta anyway if I had gone back, but it was too late at night. He said it wasn't his problem. I then asked him if a 25$ credit was worth losing a longtime customer over, and he said he didnt care. I said thanks for ruining my night, and hung up. I was planning to bring my mom there for her birthday too in November. Sucks because that poor waiter is probably going to be reprimanded for trying to give me good customer service. BOYCOTT. (edit: apparently the owner reads and responds to all negative reviews, highly doubt he will respond...

Our anniversary date night, just us 2, no kids, was spent there. Well, don't go on a Saturday night. I have a decibel app on my phone, and it measured 100 db spl: that's like a vacuum cleaner next to your ears; we were literally shout-talking to hear one another's words. I was looking forward to my fettuccine tartuffo with all the ingredients, but it was so heavy on the creamy sauce, that's all I could taste. I had to stop eating; and I came there hungry, ready to eat a lot. Our salad we had to start was a bit exaggerated on the dressing; the key lime pie we shared for dessert was not as light as we expected but very heavy and creamy. We both couldn't finish it. This is rare, as I am one to always finish everything. I left feeling bloated and not satisfied, really. Was expecting a pleasant time on our anniversary, I was relieved to get to the parking lot and get my hearing back. It's a bit pretentious to come off as an elite destination with the elevated price point the meals are set at cause they don't match the average quality. They may be riding on the coat tails of past success. Or maybe, Saturday night is a bit overwhelming for the staff. The waitress was very polite but sure seemed overwhelmed: she came once to ask if our meal was correct, that's it. She didn't bring the small plates for the starters, she never brought the bread we asked for with our salad, we had to ask a bus-boy. Montreal is full of restaurants to choose from: I think I'll be skipping this one. I don't mind paying the big bucks on a special night out, but this was not...

December, 2023

Visited this restaurant back in December of 2023. I was disappointed at the the service here.

It was a birthday of a former friend It was Saturday and super busy. My former friend made a reservation for a group 10 people much or less.

It was packed and beyond packed! every corner was full. When I came in 8:20PM, the table was supposed to be ready for 8:30PM.

The lady said the table was not ready.

So We waited and after 9:30PM we finally got a table.

I could not stay any longer. I had work the the following day early in the morning but we waited 1 hour for our table which the previous guests stayed for 3 WHOLE HOURS.

What a shame that the customers stayed that long. THEY should learn that it’s not a place for chatting and people need to eat.

The management should have done an ACTION or acted IMMEDIATELY because 3 HOURS is just plain wrong.

It’s both the customers and management at play here.

Would have love to try the food here but did not get the chance. Unfortunately. Once so visit this place and hopefully get a table I will give it a proper rating.

So hopefully I will give it a try but for now I’m indifferent on service and how the restaurant is being run.

I do hope they make changes and make it better in the present and future.

God Bless you all and God Bless the people who do right.

God Bless and thank you.

Repent and believe,...
