I first came to Goldies when the Burger Baron down the street was NOT open at 11:15am, 15 mins after its supposed to open. Goldies welcomed us with open arms and an empty table. We quickly ordered He-Mans and waited eagerly for our meals. The plates coming out of the kitchen were huge. 5 big pieces of fried chicken, a mound of fries, macaroni salad, garlic toast and gravy were all served up. The owner kindly served us our food, telling us to enjoy and saying "hope you're hungry". The boys immediately went to buisness on the tender, juicy chicken that was both flavourful and hot. It was bliss, not a word was spoken, all you could hear was the crunch of perfectly fried chicken. The boys didnt leave a crumb. One even drank his remaining gravy. When the owner came back he was left speechless, asking whether we liked the food or were hungry. Both. This place had us feeling like we died and had went to heaven. We must've done something real good in a past life to get to experience a hot plate at Goldies on a Sunday morning. This place is sacred, a new must stop when in Drayton...
Read moreWas here last night to try it out with my friend and granddaughter. We spent over 70 bucks. The service by the staff was great. The older gal was lovely and brought our meal out to our car knowing we were outside waiting. The staff here don't get their tips if on debit so we didn't give one at the time however we kicked ourselves in the ass after for not giving her cash for the staff when she was so kind and came outside. We ordered lg pizza, trex donair and 6 donair spring rolls (which were to die for). Unfortunately the 5 plus pound donair was placed on top of our pizza when given to us and it didnt click for us bc it was our first time here to know how monsterous the donair was, so by the time we made it home 35 min, the donair had collapsed the box onto our pizza! I wish I could post pictures but for some reason that's not a option! We will def be back...
Read moreWe've been living in Drayton for the past 18 months and quickly discovered that Goldies was the place to go for Pizza and Chicken. They didn't disappoint. The food is really good and fresh and their donairs are among the best I ever had. But truth be told, in these tight times it's not the food alone that keeps me coming back, it's the service that really stands out and that keeps me coming back for more. The family is just likable and this town wouldn't be the same without them. So, if you are new in town or just passing through, get messy and have a donair, a bucket of chicken, or a fresh 🍕 , support a local family and know that you are helping to support Drayton...
