Food- great, lots of good things to choose from wow Diane went for the peach salad looked amazing and tasted great I had ribs and chicken tenders only two small tenders but very tasty. 7:30 Thursday not busy. Melissa showed up after long wait at our table, got water and then waited again to order, still not busy I noticed she was bartending also ?? Seen 3 other servers wishing we had one of them as they passed by our table many times. 3 important things for servers Greeting - Order - bring me what I ordered I ordered crab cakes and the meal showed up so i cancelled the crab cakes she apologized for forgetting. How is everything - I needed more sour cream and butter for my baked potato I love a good baked potato and this one was good, looking for Melissa seeing her behind the bar helping customers 2 of them. Oh number 4 get the extra plates out of the way when we are done eating or as we are done eating as I mentioned 3 other servers wishing they might grab dishes but no they sat there in the way. Oh number 5 Diane needed more water people should never have to ask flag down Melissa for water. Came by mentioned my disappointment she offered a new potato but we a ready to leave. Packing up now and some nice lady came over and apologized for the bad service and offered to discount the price I said thanks Diane wanted to leave a tip and I mentioned tipping is for good service and we didn’t get that so the lowest tip option was given. I was in town for work and went there for a steak on a wed night. They were nice until they realized I was English speaking, that's when things got weird. The man who I think was the manager pulled one of the male servers to the back and I noticed them staring at me and laughing!! At that point they turned all the channels to the Canadians game (pre season) while there was a Jays playoff game on that that had asked to see. I ordered my steak and asked for for it "well done", and when it arrived it was soon burnt that the bone in the steak was smoking not steaming but smoking to the point where other people we're looking over wondering what the smell was! All around the edges were also burnt. 5 min later the waitress came by and asked how how it was and being the guy that I am I said "it's burnt but I'm starving ". Maybe well done means something else in Quebec I don't know but my experience was not pleasant, and I know Baton is great I've been to the young street location to many times to count and and have no issues.

We went for lunch. I took a steak and fries and my spouse, a salad with salmon. The soup of the day, a vegetable cream was very salty. The lettuce in my friend salmon salad was rusty for some of it. That means it was old lettuce. The cooking of the salmon was very good. My flank steak was cooked to my liking. However, there was too much salt and steak spice on my meat. The fries were very good and the coleslaw too. The sauce that came with the steak was served in a small container on its own and not poured over the steak which is excellent. It had a very pronounced pepper taste. The coffee was much too strong, a sign that it had been heating for a long time on the stove. The waitresses were friendly and efficient. The price of steak and fries for lunch on the restaurant's website is lower than the price of this item...
