Just visited the store today and there is always an older woman working there. I have been coming here for years and she is always very rude to her customers and workers. While checking out our many items I had accidentally put an item that was not mine (that was on the counter next to my items, so you could see why I thought it was my item) in my bag. The older lady stared at me, not saying anything and reaches for the bag and says “those arent yours” in the rudest way possible with a straight face. Like i was trying to steal from them after just paying $40 for several little items that add up quick. I obviously felt terrible as that was not my intention and she just stares at me as I apologized. She was super rude and stuffed them back in my bag and said you take them, trying to save face for being so rude about my mistake. She says “once you come here more often you will get to know me more” as if I need to get to know her personality more as it comes off rude. Which she is. Very. She does not know her customers obviously as I have been coming here for years and have never had a good experience with her helping me. I honestly felt so shocked and did not want the item she tried to stuff back in my bag forcefully, but she insisted. I probably won’t come back here if she is working as I felt super uncomfortable and appalled at her stance and the way she...
Read moreThis is a negative review directly related to how hot cross buns were being displayed & arranged. The buns were stacked on top of each other & squashed like pancakes. Like so many folks with celiac I have to eat GF otherwise suffer the consequences which can be very severe. I commented to the staff member running the till about the hot cross buns all being squashed & asked if there were any in the back that were not squashed. She blinked at me like a troll from Frozen with a completely lost & confused expression & whispered no.
Life is very expensive & this made me sad. I bought hot cross buns from a grocery store for the rest of my family and even those were sad in my eyes but they were not squished. Packaged in a recyclable box measuring 6.5cm in height. I measured kinnikinnicks to find that at the highest point was just over 2cm!! That's not even an inch!! The highest point!
I know the person working the till is just staff likely being paid minimum wage (which is another hill to die on) but is it too much to ask for no squished hot cross buns!?!? I would ask that we all take a bit more pride in our jobs, no matter the job, & please be a bit more thoughtful. Can you please arrange baked goods in a way that will not ruin the product?
This is sad. If I was the owner I'd be...
Read moreI have been meaning to check out Kinnikinnick Fresh for quite some time and now that I've finally had a chance to stop in I just wish I would have done so sooner.
There is a HUGE selection of gluten free and dairy free items with some frozen and packaged foods and a large selection of freshly baked goods.
The muffins, specifically the lemon cranberry is the absolute best GF/DF muffin I have ever had! Chocolate chip was also delicious and the blue raspberry was great according to my 3 year old (who stole it that evening lol).
The hamburger buns were soft and didn't fall apart, similar to the Udi's buns. I tried a frozen strawberry rhubarb pie that was really tasty though I'm a big rhubarb fan so it could have been a little more sour but it was still delicious. The frozen cinnamon buns were really good, I'll have to try and find them fresh another day. The cinnamon raisin scones go perfectly with a hot cup of tea and I also picked up some whoopi pies that were good.
All in all I would highly recommended anyone interested in GF foods (with most DF as well) to...
