124 Grand Market — Local services in Western Mature Area

We recently had the chance to check out the 124th Grand Market for the first time. While it was small (two dozen tables?), its size made for an intimate experience where you could converse with vendors and not have to worry about being crushed by throngs of buyers.

The market featured a variety of items: fresh produce, soap, alcoholic beverages, baked goods, clothing etc. It was also great to see a non-profit present handing out sunscreen and raising awareness about the importance of protecting your skin from the sun. Live entertainment and food trucks were also present.

While most vendors were friendly and welcoming, one vendor (an Asian couple selling Beef Jerky) actually glared at us and then turned away as we walked past their table. I'm guessing we were not their target audience though our money appeared to be just as green as any other buyer at the market that day. It was unnerving, but that one experience failed to dampen our enjoyment...

We checked out the 124th Street Grand Market. Love this market nestled in the residential streets and it has grown bigger! Each booth offers something unique and enticing to buy! I also love the food trucks that offer yummy food. Although it rained it didn't dampen customers roaming the market a d stopping at the food trucks for a quick supper or snack. I also love that some of the booths offer tasters of delicious pastries or a little sample of drinks. I will definitely be going back. Market is on Thursday night...

This farmers market is fantastic. It's got a great mix of vendors. From produce to local art. I mainly go for the veggies, I have never been disappointed with the quality. There is always something new to try along with my vegetarian staple veggies. Cost wise, with the price of food it's almost the same with the added bonus of supporting local.
