We ordered the carpaccio, spring rolls, satay pho and a regular beef ball pho. The appetizers were really good and so was our server. He was friendly and outgoing. That was pretty much the good experience. Touching base on the pho as this is a pho restaurant, well let's just say I won't go back. The satay pho was bland and the flavor was very off. If you have had satay beef pho before you do have somewhat of an expected taste. This one however tasted nothing like the hundreds of bowls I've had in the past. (Maybe not hundreds but to many beef satay pho to count) I thought it was gross and wished I ordered just the regular broth. Now after that comment, even tho I didn't order a regular pho, someone else did at my table. I had a chance to taste theirs and boy was I surprised, it was just as bad as the satay one. The broth was so weird. The flavour again was not even good enough for us to just eat the noodles. At most the beef balls were the one thing that we ate. Tried to feed this to the little ones and they didn't like the taste either. You know how you'd still eat the pho meat after all of this? Cuz you don't want to waste it and that's probably the most expensive part of the soup lol... Well that didn't even happen either! The beef was tuff and hard to swallow unless you wanted to sip on that broth again. Pho at a fast-food court is 20x better then this place. Rating it 2 stars- 1 star for good customer service, and 1 star for the...
Read moreIt’s a nice open, comfortable restaurant. I’ve been there a few times. The amount of food they serve, however, is not good anymore. I ordered the beef satay noodle soup twice on two separate occasions. Both times they skimped on the amount of beef. The first time I ordered, there were two little pieces of thinly sliced beef in the bowl. About 2.5 inches long. I didn’t say anything about it. But when I ordered the same satay bowl again on a different occasion, I specifically asked the server if they would be a little more generous with the beef. This time they put a couple of more pieces in the soup, but it was still skimpy. Worse than that, my parents ordered a fried beef noodle dish that had VERY LITTLE beef in it! See photo. The dish was almost all noodles with, again, three little pieces of beef about two inches long! We were so shocked that we voiced our displeasure to the waitress. She came over, pointed at the dish and said “There’s beef, right there.” Yeah, the three small pieces the size of my pinky finger! When we were leaving, I noticed the waitress was giving us dirty looks even though we complained nicely. We won’t be going back here. I noticed other reviews mentioning the same skimpy portions that they serve at this particular PhoExpress. Perhaps that’s why this restaurant is usually pretty empty whenever I go there. They’re probably losing business because they’re so cheap with their...
Read moreWith family being from the service industry, we can understand being a little busier and having less staff to support it. It happens, and what is going on in the world is certainly not helping. However this business does not seem to want to conquer this, and it is very evident in their actions. Our group of 4 was not given a menu for 10 minutes, waited 15 minutes to have someone come back just for our food order (not drinks first) and another 5-10 for our drinks to arrive. After this, one meal came out at a time, with about 10 minutes in between the first 3, and the fourth being forgotten altogether. When it was brought up, no responsibility was taken as to what happened and how they would correct it. To top it off, we were not offered refills of drinks, nor were our empty dishes removed from the table, without one of us having to ask for it. When our concerns were voiced respectfully, we were noticeably avoided. I will say they did comp our one meal that was missed after it was suggest by one of our group, however it should not be something a customer should ask for, and I urge this business to learn from your mistakes...
