Fast casual Japanese where you order at the counter much like Edo and Tokyo Express, but superior in terms of quality and quantity. I do find that it can take some time to receive your food but that means it's being freshly prepared which I don't mind at all. I really enjoyed the curry pork rice bowl, pork cutlet was cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch. Curry was thick and flavourful, maybe needed a pinch more spice though but that's a personal preference. I really like the wasabi potato salad concept but it needs tweaking. More wasabi flavour as the mayo suffocates it and potatoes need to be cooked a bit longer as they are still pretty raw. Otherwise we really enjoy eating here and do visit often. It's our go to in the deep West.

I've been coming to the west end location for years but I have found that the quality of food has been steadily declining while the prices keep increasing ($5.65 for a very simple bubble tea? Very expensive). Tonight I ordered a mini panko salmon rice bowl. Salmon and vegetables were good, but the rice was in massive, dense, clumps. As i put my fork into the rice it came out in two giant "balls" which made eating it both unpleasant and difficult. I don't feel that I returning as I find ordering food is always a gamble...sometimes its good, and sometimes it's awful.

Food tastes fine but comes out really small portion sizes. You would spend even more than a typical japanese restaurant to get the same amount of food. Lady at the counter was pretty rude. She kept making comments that sashimi is not the same as sushi and so it is more expensive. Not sure why she kept indicating that. She hesitated in giving us extra wasabi.

This place used to be good. My family, wife and I used to go here almost every week to get a good quality food. I am not sure what happened but everything seems to be falling apart.

First, the customer service was horrible. The guy in the front felt like he hates his job with passion.

Second, orders are backed up because they were under staffed. I feel for the Skip drivers who have to wait for a long time to get their orders, along with customers who just wants to order some food and not wait for eternity.

Third, there is a misinformation on the menu on which the Bento box shows three rolls included but they only gave us two. The guy in the front said that they have done some changes lately so the menu apparently is not updated. Long story short, they didn't give us the extra roll... which is fine.. I guess.

Fourth, my wife ordered a Bubble Tea and specifically said no tapioca, but sure enough, the guy in the front still served us with tapioca. We just let it go as he seemed stressed already with the amount of orders they were getting and people waiting in the restaurant.

Fifth, I ordered a Japanese curry which I was really excited to try as I love this dish and its my first time trying it in this restaurant. Fast forward 30-45 mins later, my family was done with their food, other customers who was behind us when we ordered got their orders already - half way to their meals... I asked the guy in the front where my order is, and sure enough the kitchen forgot to make it. I was told to hang tight so they can make the food. I stood up by the counter and saw the curry sauce being microwaved, which is not a good sign. I gave it benefit of the doubt, that even the sauce was microwave, maybe it would still taste good. But no, it didnt taste good at all. On top of that, the meat was cold, the rice is not warm and the only thing that is somewhat warm is the sauce that was freshly microwaved. The taste was horrible that even if their curry was half price, I would still not pay nor eat it. It tasted like rubber and a cheap frozen curry dish.

Overall, not very satisfied and I don't see myself and my family going to any of their locations ever... better to spend a little more $ towards a more decent restaurant like Mikado, than waste money on a mid-priced japanese food, if you call that...

For a place that opens late and closes early, they seem to be in such a rush to close even earlier. My past experiences have always been great because the employees were very attentive, this includes my experiences from other branches; but my recent visit from this location was disappointing. I ordered the new poke bowl they were advertising and I requested that they add extra raw fish, but I was denied my request, even though I didn’t mind paying extra. The store that day closes at 8:30, I arrived and ordered around 7:30and was told that they were closing soon, I insisted I stayed to enjoy my meal and that I wouldn’t take long because after all I shouldn’t feel the need to rush because they’ll be closing a whole hour later. To come to my surprise the customer service matched the food expectations that day… it was not good. We asked for extra sauce and was told it’s extra. The Poke bowl was very disappointing. It did not look like the advertised picture! Half of the ingredients advertised were not even in the bowl! It didn’t have sesame seeds, seaweed. There was more shredded romaine lettuce than other ingredients, and it really washed out all the dynamic flavours that make a poke bowl. I seriously questioned for a place that sells seafood they can’t even put in the rest of the ingredients they should already have in stock. If you plan to exploit something from another culture, such as a poke bowl that comes from Hawaii and not Japan, have some respect and don’t sell it like how I received it that day. It’s cultural appropriation! The whole time we were eating, we were being stared at by the employees as if they were rushing us to finish, even though they were still receiving skip and...

This used to be one of our family favourite places when Thomas and the other owner were there daily. We were one of their first customers in 2008. Even after staff took over the front end it was great. They were pleasant, helpful and the food was good. But something is amiss. This is meant to be a helpful evaluation. From the first point of contact, the present front end guy is off putting. He comes across as rude, disinterested and has little passion in what he is doing. He may just be poorly trained in customer care. Several times he has answered the phone. With " Yes?" No introduction, no greeting, no confirmation that we have reached teriyaki corner... Astounding. For the last three orders the food tasted different. One time I ordered almost at closing and the presentation was so off putting that I did not eat the food. Today my chicken was dry to almost dessicated status at the ends and tasteless. Almost like an old piece of dried out chicken was thrown in my bowl. The original older lady sometimes at the front sometimes in the kitchen is great but I have not seen her lately. I think the staff especially front end needs to remember that they are there to serve the community and that must be done with care courtesy, respect as well as good food. We will be taking a break from Hamptons teriyaki corner for a while and hope Thomas implements some much needed changes so we can come back. Teriyaki corner is part of our community. We...
