My parents were visiting from out of town and we wanted to show them some of the great Middle Eastern food that we're so lucky to have in this part of the city & selected Turquaz - having driven past regularly and been impressed by the exterior of the restaurant itself and because of the excellent Google reviews. I reached out to book a reservation on Google (which was not possible) but the response I received was helpful and prompt. It was busy when we got there, but they still had no trouble seating us. Wasn't sure what to expect - but the best way I could describe it was cloth napkin service and food, with paper napkin prices. The menu wasn't extensive but there was still plenty of great options to pick from. It was "paper napkin" as mentioned but with table service, and you serve your own pop from the machine (they are halal/no alcohol is served) - but this didn't take away from the service in any way, even though they were packed on this Friday night. I suspect this may be their busiest night with Al Rashid (and other mosques) nearby. I had the "trio" with steak, chicken and kafta kebabs. The chicken and steak were spiced great and grilled perfectly, and the sides were delicious and plentiful. These huge plates with plenty of rice and salad, as well as the delicious (complimentary) bread and hummus made us wish we had skipped the grape leaf appie but it was still enjoyable. We had our six month old and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. There were other young kids seated near us and they all seemed to be having a great time too! The owner actually came by to introduce himself (correctly ascertaining that I was the one that had reached out earlier) and do a quality check, and he was so warm and friendly. You can tell her takes great pride in his restaurant and hospitality, and it really shows in the quality of the food and the service. We'll definitely be back and it will for sure be a place that we'll share with any visitors as a highlight of the North Side...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Turquaz Kebab House, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The menu at Turquaz Kebab House offers a fantastic variety of authentic Turkish and Lebanese dishes, and each one I tried was an absolute delight for my taste buds. We got the Trio Kebab and the Lamb Kebab with a side of kibbih. Our server recommended the Chicken Wings for our next visit and we can't wait to try that next!
What truly set this restaurant apart was the exceptional service provided by Alex, our friendly server. From the moment we were seated, Alex greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel right at home. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and he took the time to explain each dish, suggesting some of his personal favorites. Alex was attentive throughout the evening, ensuring that our glasses were always filled and that we had everything we needed. His professionalism, coupled with his warm and friendly demeanor, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
The staff at Turquaz Kebab House were all wonderful, but Alex truly went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. His dedication to customer satisfaction was evident, and he made sure that every aspect of our dining experience was flawless.
I highly recommend Turquaz Kebab House to anyone looking for a taste of authentic Turkish and Lebanese cuisine served with warm hospitality. And if you're lucky enough to have Alex as your server, you're in for a truly exceptional dining experience. Thank you, Turquaz Kebab House, and a special thanks to Alex, for making our visit unforgettable. We'll...
Read moreMake sure y’all come on an empty stomach because not only is the food delicious but the portions are huge as well! To start we indulged in the complementary yummy bread and Haydari (Turkish yogurt dip), and the ordered some Kibbeh (wheat balls stuffed with ground meat and onions). This was my first time trying Haydari and Kibbeh, and they were so delicious. For entrees we ordered the Trio Kebab platter, Chicken Thigh platter and Two Lamb Chops on the side. I was actually blown away by how amazing these dishes tasted. The rice was divine, so simple yet so flavourful. The salad was yummy and refreshing, and of course humus and garlic sauce were great. ALL the meats were delicious, like I don’t even have the words to describe.
One thing I really liked in particular about TurQuaz was their accommodations for various types of customers! Not only do they have a play area for those with children, they also have prayer and wudu rooms for those of Islamic faith! A restaurant that truly welcomes everyone. The TurQuaz is still on the newer side so, the interior is really cozy yet modern, and service is not bad considering you just order at the till and they serve you your meal at the table.
Honestly everything about TurQuaz Kebab was spectacular, and I’m telling you I am already...
