To begin with as soon as we went to sit down at a table the waitress told us it was dirty we came at 3:30 with 8 other tables being occupied. We switched seats and immediately noticed the horrible flickering lights above us then we also noticed how dirty everything was for a "grand opening" wood was worn, dirt and hair in the booths. It felt like a dive bar so at least we were expecting reasonable prices on the menu but it seemed very expensive the dishes we had (dried ribs and chicken mushroom Sandwich) were extremely small and underwhelming. Potatoes were cold and lacked flavor or even milk and butter they were lumpy, chicken had no seasoning and felt like rubber also both very cold, mushrooms were very small and would fall out before you could take a bite. No flavor on the dried ribs at all nor salt and pepper on either of our dishes it felt like we were eating at a retirement home how bland it was. We ended up only eating about half then having to make food when we got home. Spent $50 on our food and drinks and I really wish I hadn't please don't go here there is the Canadian Brewhouse down the road same price twice the quantity and quality. I would be very surprised if the management (rob the gm) ever solves any of these issues.. 1/5

Wing special is SCAM!! It is not as advertised. The normal wing order is $19 for 1lb of wings with carrots, celery, and a dipping sauce. If you want a second sauce the price is additional $2. These guys say wings are half price but don’t tell you that they also cut out the veggies and sauce unless you want to pay more for those items. The additional price charged is $2 per dipping sauce and $2 for veggies. They shouldn’t advertise it as 1/2 price when it’s really just 25% off. This is not a big deal but what had our table upset was that they don’t tell you about their scam until the food is at your table. The rest of our food was over cooked. Most of the dry ribs were so hard that it felt like solid bone. We didn’t bother sending it back because we as a group decided that the place was not worth coming back to. We love the Sherlock Holmes downtown and will go there. But first impressions of this location was not positive at all. We will just wait for them to go out of business and try the next business that moves into this location which is quite often. The service that we received while here was pleasant and good.

We checked out the new Sherlock Holmes that opened up on 137th and it was a cozy place. Our server was friendly and accommodating. We ordered food and drinks but waited awhile for our food. I'm chalking that up to 2nd day of opening gitters. Saturday night brought a live singer which was awesome! Wondering if they will do karaoke night at this location. Specials for Saturday was $5 off any burger meals which was great! We ordered the London Tower burger and it was delicious. Will go back to sample more offerings and a great place to watch hockey game as they had screens all over the place.

First I just need to say that we are still super excited/hopeful to have this pub at this location, many many restaurants have seemed to fail here and we are hoping for success! This is why I’m leaving this review, the issues we experienced today are completely fixable.

We came at 12:30 pm and it was only at about 40% capacity. Waited over 10 minutes before we could even order a beer, the waitress walked past three times saying “I’ll be right with you”. The last time we just stopped her and asked if we could just get a beer before she brought menus. We then waited another 10 minutes to get our beers and menus. In hindsight we should have just left but we really wanted to try the food.

The food was stellar, we had burgers which were $5 off and Kilkenny on tap 👌🏼. We had ordered a 3rd beer to share but it never came, I finally just waved her over to cancel the beer order and asked her to please bring a water. She was apologetic throughout, but it was one of the slowest service experiences we have ever had.

It was clear that the primary problem was that there were only 2 waitresses working, one on each side, and a third person bringing drinks and clearing dishes. Admittedly the waitress on our side was also not at all efficient and very inexperienced. It was like she was doing one thing at a time, vs dropping bills and taking numerous orders at a time. She was apologizing to everyone, missing cutlery, no ketchup, we saw others getting up and leaving, someone walked to the bar to order a drink.

Please please please get an experienced server and have more on shift. We will be back for dinner sometime to give it another shot, but if the experience is similar we will not return.

Dec 16th updated review* Originally gave 3 stars due to poor service. Updates to 5 based on our second visit! They’ve added a host who seats you, which was a huge difference. All the waitresses were awesome, and food was delicious. Thanks for listening!!! We will be...

Sherlock's is going the route of a few places now, where you get less but pay the same. Had the gluten free butter chicken. Both my friend and I noticed a couple things (having come to Sherlocks since it opened together, and with our spouses), that the portion size of the butter chicken was almost half of what it used to be AND now they didn't provide the gluten free roll with it (even though they had previously and I wasn't able to have the naan). This was peculiar as I had specifically asked for butter to go with the roll. At first the server tried to tell us it doesn't come with it, even though we were adamant it had. She went to check with someone in the back and came back and said it doesn't come with it as gluten free is more expensive. Um. Ok. But 1) It was part of the meal and had always been what was provided for the gluten free version (and to be honest, what caught my attention and kept me coming back as the roll was one of the best gluten free ones I've had- celiacs, you know what that is like) 2) It wasn't even offered AFTER telling us this. Sherlocks, while you have some selections for celiacs to enjoy your venue (which is always appreciated, so we can, you know, be treated like normal people and be social too), pulling the bait and switch like that, as well as falling down the rabbit hole with every other resteraunt selling less for the same/more, is super shady. You've definitely been noticed now and that sort of behaviour and price gouging will be remembered. A shame, since we've been to your establishment all together...

UPDATE APR 3/24 - Past 2 weeks have been significantly improved. Service is consistent, and even better than before, and food quality has been better as well (although still sometimes inconsistent on portion sizes...). Got Scotch Egg to replace one I didn't get last time, and it was messy but good!

Chalking previous review experience up to mostly just a bad night. Have been coming here for 3 months somewhat regularly...food has been inconsistent week to week, as is service on occasion.

Tonight, ordered "Above Average Burger" which was anything but: Dry, cold bun, tiny sliver of pale pink/green tomato, one limp lettuce leaf with black spots, and lukewarm fries. Could have gotten 3 Whoppers nearby for the $22 price tag...saw Harvey's burger on the tv there that also looked more appealing than what I got.

Also ordered Scotch Egg to take home, but server did not bring it as we paid our bill...saw her seated at another table chatting as we left, and we forgot until after we got home. She DID credit our bill for a dessert (due to chipped glass which nicked my lip), but very disappointed overall with tonight.

Servers for most part are friendly and attentive, with a few exceptions. Not sure if chefs are same or different, as portions seem to vary. We will likely return, but we are learning...
