It's funny to me when people say certain places have the best Vietnamese food. I approach Vietnamese restaurants by what I feel like eating. I have my go to pho places, bun bo hue places, banh mi places etc. With that being said, this place hits on alot of items. If you're coming here for anything that you get to dump fish sauce in, this is where you should come. Also if you're looking for something other than the more well known dishes, Banh canh here is fantastic. Some people probably haven't tried or have heard of it but it is a thicker soup with big udon like noodles. The version here comes with different bits of seafood and Cha lua in it. A bit salty but extremely good. Bun bo hue is very good, but to me the pho is only passable. It's fine though because they hit on so many other dishes it's a nice break to take. If you eat Chinese won ton, give this nammer version a try. It is so much more flavourful it will change your outlook on the dishwater you have been consuming before. Combo 1 comes with a small bowl of it so you have the opportunity to give it a shot as well as their tasy nuoc mam and grilled meat. Mi kho is a "dry noodle" dish, in that it isn't a soup like most other Vietnamese noodle bowls. It is similar to mi goreng that comes with seafood, Cha lua and a thicker soy based sauce.(it does come with a side of sipping soup) This is a good clean starter place if you've been afraid to try nammer hole in the wall places before or are a veteran looking for the normal favs or even a couple different dishes not normally...
Read moreThis was my first time trying Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup (Item 34-but I asked for SUPER SPICY)
The spicy beef soup that felt truly authentic—and I was blown away! The broth was incredibly aromatic with a gentle hint of lemongrass, and I asked for it to be super spicy.
They nailed it! The heat was intense but perfectly balanced with the rich, flavorful soup.
What really stood out to me was how much beef they gave—way more than most other restaurants I've tried. It wasn't just a few slices—this bowl was packed with tender, juicy beef, making it so satisfying and filling.
Highly recommend this place if you're craving authentic Vietnamese flavors and a generous, satisfying bowl of spicy beef noodle soup! The lady and the owner told me , next time order, make sure order "SUPER SPICY" so that I can taste it like "home!"
The experience was excellent from the start. As soon as we walked in, they served us warm Chinese jasmine tea, which added a lovely touch. And honestly, after the very first sip of soup, I was already planning my next visit. The environment was cozy, the service was warm, and the food was simply outstanding.

Read morehere twice in 2024, it is Jan 13th 2024 as I write this. Something's changed in the new year as when the last time I went in Dec 2023 it was still good. The last 2 times I went, my family got the same order, a couple of 35 and i got 35a. 35 is the Pho Dac Biet and 35a is the Co Do Hue pho special. The last two times all dishes had about 1/2 to 3/4 of the noodles they used to give. Also less meat than they used to give. Maybe this is the new normal that shrinkflation has hit CDH. But alson the soup was also much saltlier than before. So much so that my wife's couldn't finish her noodles because her mouth felt funny. CDH used to be a favorite of my family, but not sure if we'll be going back anymore.
Update March 29, 2024: went back again as a family member wanted to go, we had my mother, a 77 year old and 2 young kids. We were offered a seat by the door and my mother said too cold and they said in Vietnamese "them wear a jacket" maybe because they thought we couldn't understand (but my mom does). Also, soup wasn't as salty but portions definitely are smaller and also I think the...
