We had the pleasure of working with Esquimalt Bake Shop for our recent Community Fun Day at CFB Esquimalt, a fair-style event that welcomed approximately 1,000 attendees. From the very beginning, the team demonstrated a deep commitment not just to quality baking, but to community connection and thoughtful collaboration.

In the months leading up to the event, they worked closely with us to creatively find a way to support the food and beverage needs within our budget, ensuring we could serve a large crowd with a delicious mix of sweet and savoury baked goods. Their communication was excellent—particularly their proactive outreach in the days before the event to confirm pickup logistics and allergen-conscious packaging (including separating items without being asked). That kind of attention to detail and care makes all the difference.

Esquimalt Bake Shop is a local gem—beloved by long-time residents and a must-visit for anyone coming to Victoria. We would absolutely love to work with them again at future base events.

Great service! Wide range of delicious donut options. Ordered in the evening and order was ready by 9am as requested. Family gathering for a birthday party, and everyone enjoyed the donuts DELICIOUS! The reaction from damily members was eye popping and draw dropping when they saw the donut size and the variety, WELL DONE to the staff at ESq Bakery!!! We had extra and ate them the next day and still, very tasty and fluffy. Prior to party I gathered my grandchildren to do a blind taste test with donuts I purchased from 2 other donuts stores that were highly recommended, and all of them voted for #3 which was Esquimalt Bake Shop! We created a mini donut wall instead of serving birthday cake. Service was exceptional when she asked what our occasion was for she happily smiled and gave the birthday boy a triple chocolate chip cookie, the cookies are large too.

These are the best donuts in the city, hands down. Also the best in Vancouver or Portland, the two cities I’ve lived in most recently. These are lofty, pillowy, sugary, dinner-plate-sized orbs of delight. Always fresh, because they sell out every day. And cheap! Even in December 2022, after CPI has rocketed to new heights, you can get one of these amazing indulgences for two or three bucks. The lady who runs the place is a gem—a super talented baker, no-nonsense at the till, but kind as the day is long. We arrived just in time to see the customer before us buy the last maple cream. Seeing our sadness, the proprietress asked if we wanted her to make another one fresh…and this was probably half an hour before closing. Then she wouldn’t take the full coat of the donuts we bought (we had to put it in the tip jar.) Go, buy, enjoy. Take cash, it’s all they accept. Take lots of cash, these...
