Saigon Char-Broil - Esquimalt — Restaurant in Esquimalt

We are visiting Esquimalt from Alberta. A friend had suggested Saigon Char-Broil, Esquimalt as a good place to meet and have lunch. Our friend phoned in our orders and we met for lunch. Right a way we were welcomed by staff and immediately seated as our friend had reserved. Although a small place it was extremely busy. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was extremely delicious and plentiful. I had prawns hot and sour soup, one of my favourites when visiting an Asian restautant. I can state that this was the best I have had. It was more than enough. Both my wife and I had enough left over to take home for another meal. We will definately return to this restaurant on our next visit...

Bubble tea was very good. Unfortunately, a bit disappointing on the meat quantity in the soup. I ordered beef and tripe soup, I had one tiny piece of tripe in there (less than an inch) and that was it. That’s it. I wanted to make sure the owner knew so I communicated it to them and I was told that I should ask for more tripe instead of beef and that it was because tripe was not popular.

I can absolutely understand tripe may not be popular but if people don’t like it they will order something else. I ordered a tripe soup and expect tripe to be present which was not the case. (First of all, I am pho lover and tried almost every pho restaurant in Victoria and Langford) I've been here 2 month ago, tried beef pho but too (really) Salty and portion was really small for me. And the owner(or server.. look like owner.. she was old lady) She kept frowning. When delivered our foods nerver say enjoy or something. Just drop and go. I still remeber this 2 month ago. I live nearby in Esquimalt.. but I don't think I will visit again in here again except change ownership or something.
