Lighthouse Brewing — Restaurant in Esquimalt

I have no idea what's going on in their building, but the amount of noise including fans blowing at different volumes makes it impossible to sleep. It's so loud that I can hear it through my earplugs AND tonight it's started rattling. It clearly needs maintenance. It's actually as loud as an airport with active aircraft almost 24/7. And while one might say "close your windows," we don't have AC and the fans just don't cut it in 20+ degree heat. Here's to another sleepless night...

Edit: note location, unit, and sound. I walked around the whole block today and you can’t hear it from lighthouse’s front door because the fan is way in the back as close as you can get to two multi-unit apartment buildings that have been here for years.

Their brewery backs onto residential buildings, so there’s no way they’re in the “middle” of the industrial district. I found out today that they’ve been noticed about the noise before and refuse to acknowledge it. So, clear lies in their response. This was my neighbourhood goto. I got my growler filled weekly for YEARS. I knew the names of the folks filling the growlers and they knew mine and we had great conversations. Occasionally the growler was a bit flat but I overlooked it because I enjoyed my interactions with the staff and felt strongly about supporting a nearby business.

Not sure what happened behind the scenes, but they raised their prices so all the growlers were the same price and stopped doing a loyalty punch card and now the growler costs more than a 6-pack! When I asked about the return of the punch card I was dismissively told by someone from the back staff that 'no we're not doing that again'.

I still buy Lighthouse beer in the shops because frankly it's really good beer, but I won't be returning to...

In light of recent global events, we have all become self-isolated, ensuring our health. Well, this means we are stuck at home with our significant others, or crazy kids, and desperate times call for BEER DELIVERY! I called Lighthouse at noon, had an extremely easy, and pleasant conversation with the guy taking my order, then had beer delivered TO MY DOOR that same afternoon for a modest $5 delivery charge!
