My husband, daughter and I went to the new Angus location this evening for the first time. We left with very mixed feelings about our visit; on the one hand, our server (didn't catch her name) was extremely friendly, albeit absentminded. Our drink order was wrong (she brought our "paid drinks" but forgot the water we requested and then didn't bring all of them out so we had to ask again). We were also brought the wrong appetizer and when my husband asked if he could "kick up" (make spicier) his wings like you can always do at coops she looked at him like he was crazy and had no clue what he was trying to say. Like I said, really friendly girl, but probably new to serving.
Our food had high points and low points: my daughter's macaroni and cheese was literally boxed Kraft Dinner with the powdered cheese sauce which we thought was pretty sad (not to mention ridiculously overpriced for what you got). I got the hot maple wings which I believe are supposed to be a 5 out of 6 on the spicy scale but just tasted like burnt barbecue sauce. My husbands "medium (3/6)" Bbq Thai wings were a "mild" at best. We were really disappointed about how our sauces turned out given the signature dish there is literally the wings. That said we were pleasantly surprised with the size of side salad that came with our order and the balsamic dressing was great. For $7.00 (Tuesday wing deal) you do get quite a lot of food, assuming your wings are edible.
All told, not sure we will be going back. Seems like they still have a few kinks to work out. Here's hoping they succeed because Coop's is way too busy...
Read moreThe server was nice but slow, there appeared to be a issue with the takeout orders she was dealing with. She was the only server working and it took her 15 minutes to greet me. The group of gentlemen at the only table in the restaurant told her to seat me first, otherwise I would have been waiting longer. She seemed new which I understand, but she should greet and sit customers down first, Acknowledging the person at the door says a lot and makes them feel welcome.
After she seated me she was apologetic grabbed me my drink, My guest showed up a few minutes after grabbed himself a beer and then ordered a Caesar. It took her awhile to attempt to make a Caesar, We kept seeing her grab a piece of paper as it appeared she didn’t know how to make the Caesar. The phone would ring and she would leave the unmade drink to ring in take out. This is where she should make the drink and then deal with the takeout order. Anyways we cancelled the Caesar and ordered another beer instead. The only reason why I am writing this review is it appears there needs to be some upper management training. This place could do well if staff was Tentative.
We like the location and appearance of the bar but the service really needs to step it up a notch. This was our third visit with very...
Read moreWent in for a bite about 8:30 on a Saturday night on long weekend. Yesterday. Place had few customers with only one girl serving tables. Photos on menu need to be changed as the picture is NOT what you get. Poutine with chicken and green onion in photo looks good but in the place they don’t have green onion. The wings are small and way overpriced. 3 orders of wings, Maverick, for over $50 bucks ! And you are still hungry after ! The bacon cheeseburger is sad. Tiny section of plastic looking cheese with 2 pathetic pieces of limp bacon. Why ? If you order a double or triple wing meal you can’t have one order regular and one boneless. Why ? With different sauce it’s in a different bowl. Want more blue cheese ? Up charge. Want a little gravy ? Up charge. Salad instead of fries ? Up charge. If this is the only place open and you don’t have any other option, maybe get McDonald’s next door, or Pizza Hut next door. This is the second time I’ve given this place a try but to be honest I won’t return. I think this franchise location will either be under new management soon or will close. The negatives far outweigh the positives. And looking at reviews it doesn’t appear the current manager cares about reviews. I think he gets his money...
