The Plaice Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Fort Erie

Fries served too salty to eat. This was our first time here. Visited around 5:00 p.m. on a July Tuesday. Large inside, lots of seating, but we decided to sit outside on the patio. No local brews on tap but we were able to get Guinness and creemore. Menu looks good, sign outside advertised perch and pickerel (but that's only on Fridays...) We ended up getting 2 orders of regular fish and chips, which wasn't bad except that the french fries were completely inedible for both of us. They were over-salted to the point that even i, who loves salty, could not stomach them. Wiped them off on napkin, still didn't help. Ended up bringing super salty fries home to wash in the sink and put out for the birds. If our server had returned after dropping off our meal, we would have would have asked if we could get a new batch for a substitution but she did not come back to check on us for 45 minutes. When she returned, all the food was gone (except for the pile of salty fries). She did offer that they could give us an unsalted batch to go... But we have over an hour's drive to get home and who wants to eat cold fries? So that was quite unsatisfactory for us. Seems like a nice location otherwise, coleslaw was good. The noise level was great until someone started playing the pay per song 'jukebox' (the volume was super loud) then we couldn't hear ourselves talk. We might try this location again, but...

I rarely...if ever...leave reviews for both good and bad experiences at restaurant, however, I am maki I am downright disappointed. My family and I have been fans of your establishment for many years. We arrived at 6:41pm today and didn't receive our food until after 8 pm. We were a party of four, sat out on the old patio. Server promptly brought menus and took drink orders. Drinks were served and we ordered our food…4 meals of 10 wings each and an appetizer of fried pickles. We sat and waited and waited. Server comes around after about 40 mins and says…did you get your poppers? Ummm no we didn’t and it is pickles. Away she went. We waited and waited. Finally one person from our party walked in to find out what was going on. The server shooed her away saying she was busy making a drink, so she waited. Then the server asked if we had already eaten. No! We haven’t received a thing and she was our waitress, she didn’t know? We finally received our wings at about 8pm. They never did bring out the pickles that were on the bill. We told her to forget it just take it off the bill. Ridiculous!! She did apologize and said she had no idea what was going on in the kitchen. Very disappointed in the service or lack of we received. Sitting for almost two hours to get wings (and the non existent pickles) is unacceptable. You need...

To start I have always been a big fan of the food and beer. We have always brought our friends and family to this restaurant. However over the course of approximately 8 months the food quality has gone way down. We always order the buffalo chicken pizza for ourselves. It's always been a hit with our friends as well. However over the last while the pizza has been extra crispy to the point of beening burnt and the taste of cardboard. We have given them the benefit of the doubt. But tonight was the last straw. We ordered our usual buffalo chicken pizza. I never inspected the pizza before leaving. When i arrived at home and opened the box to my disappointment half the pizza did not have cheese or any chicken on it. I called the restaurant and explained the situation. The server was extremely sorry for the mistake. Again we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Another pizza was made for us. I drove back to the restaurant to pick up my new pizza. And upon inspection I found my replacement pizza was in the same condition as the previous one. The server even pointed out there was no chicken on this pizza. The server was nice enough to return my money for the pizza. However I will not be returning or recommending this place anymore to...
