First time trying this restaurant. There was no heat, no running water in the woman's bathroom, and the food was just ok. We were going to leave, but as it was early in the am, we thought the place was slow to heat up (open concept and as customers came through the door, you could see your breath). It wasn't until we had committed to our order and realized the place was getting no warmer, that we asked and were told that the heat was gone.
Another customer brought up the fact that there was no water in the women's bathroom and only cold water in the men's. It made me wonder if there was any water in the employee washroom ? 🤔
I think being told about the heat when we entered and took a seat would have been courteous. A note on the door, perhaps. 2 tiny heaters were in place, so small, we didn't notice them until another customer pointed them out. But wow, it got colder by the minute. Again, I could have left or even got my order to go, which I do regret, but I was hungry, tired, and was hoping that the food would be great.
The food was OK. The fried potatoes were the highlight..nice and crispy. My toast was cold and got colder by the minute, and the eggs, especially the hubby's, were not restaurant quality (overcooked and underwhelming). The food was cold within a few minutes. My husband described his coffee as dish water.
Free warm beverages (again, avoid the coffee) would have gone a long way. Hand sanitizer on the tables for lack of running /hot water. Larger heaters, customer service, and maybe instead of being irritated, talk to your customers and make them feel better instead of raising your voice to your employees. I can only imagine how cold they were.
I can't recommend it and I won't be back. Even if they fix the heat....and...
Read moreI always loved this place, but lately the service is very poor, typically a wallet out on the table with a card on top is a signal for the server to bring the machine/bill. Not only is the food a longer wait than it used to be, but 4 times in a row I was left waiting for ~20minutes with an empty plate and wallet ready. I'm assuming they have someone new, not used to the Canadian service industry working for a low wage and it shows.. one quick brunch dish shouldn't be an hour, especially when I ordered as soon as I sat down didn't even need the menu. Addition: the tap on their machine hasn't worked for a while, several other patrons in the restaurant, I am 100% sure my account is funded, tap fails, waitress says loudly "Declined" causing everyone in the restaurant to look over at me, potentially humiliating, it's a well known thing that in the industry if someone does get declined you politely tell them we need to try it again and hand them the decline slip. She knew this was their machine as this same waitress told me before the tap had been failing (on a previous day) so why did she this time act rude about it and have zero professional or social skills about it? (I quickly inserted same card and payment accepted but still needless negative attention)They'll have my business back when they hire competent...
Read moreThis place does not deserve one star. I used to go with my friends on a regular. I’ve picked up commotions in the kitchen, staff bickering. They are two faced, they treat the regulars very kind but the owner and the server treat staff very poorly. I recommended my mother to apply here because I honestly thought they were decent people. On her first day (today) she was sworn at multiple times, and treated harshly. The owner is very unprofessional even in the way she presents herself, slob way of dressing, and speech. If you hire someone new there has to be a proper way to train, training is essential you should know this if you are leading a team. The server is the same way, she’s even told us before how she’s had problems with skip the dishes by the way they’ve been treated. This restaurant does not deserve to be supported by the community with their type of attitude and way they treat people. My mother is a hard worker, polite, reliable, loyal and honest. It really is your loss. By this way this is “no, no” you call me these because I usually don’t have cheese and mushrooms, you also know my friends that go with me…you have lost all of our business. You the manager and your waitress are despicable two...
