No Car? No Food! A&W's DISCRIMINATION Against Pedestrians! ★☆☆☆☆
Let me set the scene for you. It's 1:30 AM. I'm exhausted, completely starving, and my only craving is for A&W. I don't have a car, so I make the commitment to walk 2 KM—that's over 20 minutes—through the quiet, dark night just to get my fix.
I finally arrive, tired but hopeful. I approach the drive-thru window (the only thing open) and politely ask to order food.
What I was met with wasn't an apology, but outright discrimination. The employee behind the window didn't see a hungry customer; she saw a person without a car. She informed me, with a tone of absolute indifference, that they have a "policy" not to serve people on foot at the drive-thru.
Let that sink in. I had the money. They had the food. But because my mode of transportation was my own two feet instead of four wheels, I was deemed unworthy of service.
After a 2 KM walk, I was turned away empty-handed. This isn't just bad customer service; it's a pathetic and elitist policy that discriminates against anyone who walks, cycles, or uses public transport.
What's the logic? That my legs are a safety hazard? That my wallet works differently because I walked there? It's nonsense. It's pure, unadulterated laziness. They couldn't be bothered to take two steps to hand me a bag of food.
A&W, you should be ashamed. You left a loyal customer hungry and stranded in the middle of the night because of a ridiculous and exclusionary rule. Your "policy" is just an excuse for terrible service.
I will never make that walk again. I'd rather go hungry than give a single dollar to a business that judges its customers by their transportation. If you don't have a car, don't bother. They think you're not good enough to eat here.

Read moreWorst location in the city. I always give them a chance because it’s the closest to home but I have to remind myself to just drive further because this location messes up every time! When you address your concerns they come at you very rude and the manager is the worst. Unapologetic and always in a rush to dismiss the customer. I always special order plain mama burgers with cheese for my kids. Today the mother had bacon in it and I was charged for a teen burger I didn’t order. Not only did they charge me but it also wasn’t in the bag so don’t know how you make that mistake. I go through drive through and always need to pull up to the front because they need more time to prepare my order. They still mess up. They need to bring the management and employees from Thickwood and Franklin locations to train all the staff at...
