I normally love mucho burrito but I live in Sherwood Park and burrito libre is 1000x better IMO, so I have since gone there. But I was in Fort Saskatchewan and there isn't a burrito libre so we went to mucho. I always order a burrito, except I remembered that I had tried the taco trip back at the beginning of summer and it was really good so I decided to have that instead. When choosing my meets and toppings I chose 1 of my tacos to have chorizo which I never tried and was super delighted to see that they had brought back the tangy green salsa cause it's the bomb and they had discontinued it a long long time ago. When we went to sit to eat, I noticed that there were barely any filling in my soft shells and I decided to roll the first one up to make it easy to eat and it ended up being the size of a taquito- the ones you throw in the microwave.. I had to stop the ends off so that it was just the tortilla bread. I ate the chorizo one first and it was so disgusting... It looks and probably tastes like wet dogfood you would to a large dog and the texture made it seem extremely fake- I still seriously wonder how much meat it was made up of compared to fillers like tofu or something and it was formed too. I hate that I have to give it such a bad rating but considering the facts and the option to have eaten elsewhere, makes me to most definitely choose somewhere else next time... That is at this location anyways but then again if I were in Sherwood or Edmonton I would just go to burrito...
Read moreSigh… I wanted to like this place BUT. Ingredients have never tasted fresh to me despite what others say. Go to any other burrito place and maybe you’ll see what I mean. Horribly wrapped burritos and mediocre pretty much anything else. I’ve given this place a fair shot, it’s consistent… consistently bad. Size wise proportions are huge and that’s great until you realize they give you WAY too much food. This makes larger burritos and, anything else really, just something you have to eat with a spoon. I’ve also had my order wrong numerous times here, WITH ONE ITEM. Location-wise, it sucks, not very fond of mucho as it is as there are better options all around sadly. Unfortunate this is what some people call the pinnacle of Mexican food.
Would’ve given a three but I’d say it’s more a 2.5 so below average.
1 decent customization 1 larger portions
-1 poor customer service -1 bad forgettable food -1 bad location and there are...
Read moreI work a lot of out of town from Edmonton, so whenever I am sent up to Fort Saskatchewan, Mucho had been my go to.
First off I don't want to dissuade anyone from the food. I've been to Mucho's all over, and the quality is always consistent. (It's not worth paying a toonie for a teaspoon of guac or peppers, but that's aside the point).
I need to leave a 1 star just for the New Canadian working there who felt it necessary to lecture me about the law and how he is not obligated to provide me a cup of water to drink with my meal. This is literally the only mucho I have ever been to (or any restaurant for that matter) where I have been refused one of our basic rights of clean drinking water. Look guys I get it, you want to sell your bottled Mexican sodas or beer with every purchase, but for crying out loud refusing a loyal paying customer cup of water? ...
