One of the best dine in experiences I have had in Fredericton. My partner and I ate for our anniversary. We were extremely impressed and left with stuffed bellies! The decor/finishes in the restaurant are beautiful, and the seating arrangements are extremely comfortable/relaxed, providing a more intimate experience. For appetizers we got the Breadsticks, Beef Carpaccio and Panko Crusted Crab Cakes. The crab cakes were definitely the star of the show. The corn compote elevated the dish, bringing a fresh component to lighten up the crab, and the chorizo aioli was so superb, we almost licked the plate clean. Our main was the 14oz Ribeye (blue rare) with Pomme Purée. It was cooked & seasoned perfectly. The potatoes with chives and cheese curds were perfectly balanced without being too rich, and so smooth. We did not end up getting dessert, but I have heard great things about them and they looked delicious coming out of the kitchen. Service was excellent, quick and compassionate. They were all so kind, attentive and you really felt taken care of. Drinks of choice were a Copper Cup & Old Fashioned. I will 110% be back soon to repeat some eats, and try some new. Thank you for the phenomenal dinner & experience!

Ordered the $15 afternoon tea with my friends. The food was bad. The texture of the pudding/custard was weird and can taste raw egg flavour(didn’t know if they actually have eggs in them); chocolate clusters tasted pretty cheap and not fresh. The scone/tea biscuit is mediocre (and it was served cold, most of the hi tea I went serve scone warm). The taste of sandwich is also below convenience store level, and the cheese used tasted not fresh as well. Tea selection was low (server only mentioned ard 5) for a place to serve afternoon tea. They change the menu every time and this might be just a bad day for the chief but then the quality control is just not acceptable. (And this is the only place I went for hi tea that they don’t introduce their pieces on the plate when they don’t have a set menu. Maybe it’s cuz they have nothing special.) It was a Saturday noon and the service is not good. I know it’s a $15 thing and don’t have high expectations. Wouldn’t recommend this if you actually love hi tea.

What a great experience at Maxwell's! From the moment we walked in, the hostess welcomed us warmly and asked for our seating preference. Then, Gio, our assigned server, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. I mentioned I was cold and he offered to bring me some warm water with lemon and even a blanket. Talk about customer service! 🌟 5 stars. The food was phenomenal. We had the crab cakes and burrata for appetizers, and the 14 oz ribeye.... all incredible. Highly recommended. If we are ever in Fredericton again, we'll certainly stop by Maxwell's again.

I want to start out saying the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very pleasing and beautiful, but our service was so beyond disappointing. We were there for a birthday dinner and really looking forward to it but we waited at least 20-30mins for our drinks and an additional hour for our orders to even be taken. Then when our waitress came to actually take them there was no apology or mention of the wait time. Our food took about an hour to come out and it was so good but no check ins from our waitress about our apps or meal to see if we needed anything or if it was ok. We had to ask for pepper and water refills. At the end of our meal we were all clearly done eating for at least 15mins and still no one came over so I had to go find our waitress and ask for our bills. All the while this same waitress was waiting a table behind us and was very attentive to them and was always checking in with them and seeing to their needs. So to see our waitress treating a different table so drastically different was very frustrating. The service was so not worth the money we paid to eat here which makes me sad to say because the food and drinks were truly amazing but service like that makes it hard to...

This was my second visit to Maxwell since September 2022. My first visit was exceptional and I was excited to go back. This visit was not so exceptional. My dinner guest and I ordered the shrimp skewers, bacon-wrapped scallops and Maxwell Caesar salad as appetizers to share. The salad contained no parmesan ( at least none that could be seen or tasted), the shrimp was average, but the bacon wrapped scallops were very good - perhaps a bit overcooked as they were a slightly chewy, but still good. The short ribs were underwhelming. I had had them on my first visit and they were excellent, so I was looking forward to having them again. Unfortunately this time they were very fatty which made them chewy instead of tender and falling apart like they were for my first experience. It felt like they were running low and we got the less than desirable cuts that were left over. It was such a let down. I don't know if they are having issues sourcing quality ingredients now, but the difference between this dining experience and my last one was significant and disappointing. The ambiance and service was wonderful, but considering what we received for the price we paid, I'm doubtful we...
