One of the off-duty members (Max) accused me of being high on cocaine in order to kick myself and a friend out of the bar. The bouncer then tried to manhandle us out of the bar despite the fact that paying customers were willing to leave the bar - we were then verbally denigrated in French by various staff members (I guess they thought we didn't speak French). Quote of the night by an off-duty staff member - "why did you guys come across the bridge" - despite the fact that me and my friend both live in Gatineau!
EDIT: You guys still offered a disingenuous apology. All you had to do was admit that your staff was very much in the wrong. Additionally, we stuck around until 2:25 since your staff escalated it so much - I would have happily left minutes after closing time if I hadn't been accused of being high on cocaine, or if I wasn't aggressively manhandled by your bouncing staff, or if I wasn't cursed out in French and discriminated against as an Anglophone - ironically I live in Gatineau, but yes, English is my primary language. When customers file complaints and members of your own staff recognize that your bar was in the wrong it is disheartening to see the management reinforce a stubborn approach to customer relations instead of conceding that yes, your staff escalated the situation and that that was entirely unacceptable. Who knows if you even dealt with your staff accordingly - I'll never be back to know. I already pulled down reviews on multiple platforms but I'm keeping this one up. Way to double down on a flawed apology buddy. Shaking hands and saying "sorry" does not make up for accusing patrons of being high on hard drugs - especially when seconds later your staff turns around and insults said patrons further. My father died from cocaine-related health issues - you do not understand how childish and hurtful your staff's comment were considering my familial history. Continue to double down though and insinuate that it was my friends and I who were completely in the...
Read moreVery disgusting the tables are always sticky. The staff are rude and unprofessional. It took awhile for the guy to even take our order 🙄yet he took other people who got there after before ours. They expect a tip, my friend bought our first rounds and the barman at bar 2(the outside one) said “no tip nice” very similar along those lines. I like tipping at the end of my night due to your service not due to “you have to tip me cause I’m a bar man”. I work and get tips too I don’t expect it because honestly good service should happen without tips, they’re just a nice extra. Also we literally just got our first drink which tasted like juice btw and he made it before we even paid. Overall very rude and no wonder why the ill functioning bar is outside and not the first one you see. Management should really get ahold of their employees. Probably the worst bar in Gatineau and would only suggest to go to watch the chaos and get drinks...
Read more2022 June update Came here with a small group for Friday happy hour. They seem to have band playing from 5-7 pm weekly. ( see their Facebook postings) nice modern patio furniture thru out.
As it locates in the middle of old Hull, easy access to everywhere.
Outdoor terrace seem like a permanent structure with a large awning expanding the Whole terrace. Band backs to the street so quite a few people stop their tracks on the street to listen as well.
Service: excruciating slow. Waitress seemed to be stressed out even terrace was less than half occupied. Ordering and receiving orders are both time consuming; I guess after pandemic we should be grateful. However , I would have been happy to order from the bar but I was told to go back and sit down……..
After 6:30 pm the place started to get more than half full outdoor. It was a nice setting and ambiance. Just wished the service was better and more...
