I ordered a 3-eggs (over-easy) breakfast from this breakfast restaurant and 2 of the 3 eggs were nearly cooked solid. That alone is worth a 1-star review. Add to that it took 15 minutes to seat us when 1/3 of the restaurant was empty, 45 minutes to get our food, coffee took ages to offer when we sat down and when we finally received it tasted somehow weak and overcooked/burned - a true accomplishment. Coffee refills weren't offered even though waiters were running past us with pots of coffee to other tables, when we did ask a waiter for a refill he literally walked off without answering at all.
My partner and I have both worked in the service industry in the past, we always approach service staff with a friendly manner, we like giving good tips. This isn't about a restaurant treating rude customers poorly. They just. didn't. seem. to. care. whether anyone was enjoying themselves, having a good meal, or really about anything at all. Staff seemed utterly disconnected, disinterested, possibly exhausted?
I will never, ever, go to this Cora's again. Probably any other Cora's either, the price just doesn't match the quality. Give me any hidden dive diner any day. I left that place asking myself what the hell I was doing there. Do I not want to be happy? Am I punishing myself? What is the meaning of this decision?
I'm ashamed to admit via this review that I ate at this Cora's, but it was so bad I needed to warn others. May the marks on my soul warn you away from this...
Read moreI am visiting Gatineau for an anniversary..we had waken up craving good breakfast and a good coffee before we took on our adventure here in Ottawa. What it seemed like owner of general manager was horrendous. Service was garbage and his communication was even worse. I ordered at 10:34 online and paid online to avoid further hold up or needing to distract another worker as we often visit Coras and know how long lines can be. The online platform stated my order would be ready for 11:00..I arrived to be poorly greeted and told to sit down. After 10 mins I decided to get up and inquire as at this point I'm thinking... eggs.. 45 mins..whats going on. GM again encouraged me to sit down, at this point I was angered as now we were hitting 11:20am..and felt if your telling customers orders would be done at a certain time, and then added an additional 25 mins before receiving an order...At this point GM had lashed out and swore and spoke about I might as well close my doors..I felt that was unnecessary..upon getting home to our air b n b after waiting over 50 mins for our order we sat down.. not only were we missing our bread...requested cutlery..ketchup.. and our two coffees with our order.. what a waste of $45 with TIP....absolutely ridiculous.. clearing the management is the problem here.. and feel sorry for the workers needing to deal with poor leadership. Read moreI took my four children out for breakfast. We had reservations. Still waited in the lobby as nobody was coming to ask how many people needed to be seated. It was quite packed. But usually in restaurants everyone is greeted and asked how many per table. Finally I called the store. Explained I was stuck in the line up and a nice young man said he’d come and bring us to our table. That was nice.
The waitress was friendly and very calm. She took out orders. Started with my kids. Ordered my kids first about 15 min before mine as I wasn’t sure what I was going to order.
Finally our waitress came, took my order. With in 15 min of waiting. My order came and then another 5 min passed and two out of four of my kids breakfast came. I needed to ask about the other two breakfast. Another 5 -10 minutes went by and my other two kids breakfast came. I had to ask for maple sirop for our pancakes, condiments for our toast. Honestpy the food was cold.the sausages was burned. I am very disappointed in our food. 85 dollars later. Everything was garbage. Last time I’ll ever waste my money or time at the store.
