About a month ago we ordered an aloo gobi dish, the cost was $19.95. It came with rice but we ordered extra which is 5.75. I asked how much the samosas were and was informed two large veggie samosas plus sauce is $6. The samosas are good and spicy but small. The pakoras were probably the best at 7.50 for 6 pieces plus sauce. Even though we got take out we tipped 15%. While picking up, a woman came in and got the $22 buffet takeout. I asked how much it would cost for kids and was informed kids 6 and under are free. Above that up to I think age 12 is half price. I made a mental note to make our next visit before my son turns 7 in 3 months. The website does not mention any buffet. He stated lunch buffets are only thursdays and fridays. Dinner buffets are thursdays, fridays, and Saturdays and has more food including goat. I think he said $33 or so for the dinner. We don't eat goat and the lunch buffet has plenty of food so we are more interested in that. Just had to make sure it was on a PD day when my son doesn't have school. Today we came in for the buffet and took my 6 year old son. I had called to ask what time the buffet ends and was told 2 pm. I stated it would be take out as my husband has work and even though he works from home 2 days of the week. He asked me what we wanted to eat which I thought was a little odd but I stated the adults probably a bit of everything and the kid butter chicken and rice but unsure as he hasn't seen anything else. I stated we would be there by 1 pm. We got there at 12:57 pm. There were 2 guys leaving the store and just us. I stated again the takeout buffet is for 2 adults and the (free) child. My husband noticed my son got charged the half price which is for older children. When I mentioned to the guy (same guy as last time) he said they don't actually do takeout buffet. I mentioned the woman from the last visit got takeout buffet. He stated that he was only an employee. So we just didn't leave a tip. Also don't bother saying thank you, we each were polite and said thank you each time but each time they don't say anything. If we knew my son would have been charged the $11.50 we would have just filled up our own plates more. He only wanted the butter chicken, meatballs and rice. We would probably still be there finishing our 3rd or 4th full plates since buffets are "all you can eat". Anyway these are the items at the buffet: Butter chicken, chicken curry, beef kofta (meatballs), chicken tikka, chana masala, saag paneer, aloo gobi, rice. There were also eggrolls and samosas. 3 types of sauces. I didn't care for any of the chicken dishes but I like the aloo gobi and beef meatballs/kofta.

First South Asian, Pakistani/Indian restaurant in the Outaouais region, about freaking time! I had the chicken biryani, butter chicken, Dhaal and pakoras for takeout. The girlfriend and I disagreed which one was best, she though Dhaal, I thought butter chicken, was dipping the pakoras in it hmmm. The only thing we could agree on is the chicken biryani is amazing and Pakoras are addictive! The owner gave us extra pakoras, huge ones too, says he grinds his own spices daily! Place smells great too so I asked if they make masala teas, yes sir! But I had already ordered and paid... Next time! The Achor Gosht is always a solid choice—full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. The Vindaloo—this is the real deal. It’s seriously the hottest thing I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding when I say I had to mix it with two other curries just to bring it down to a spice level I could handle. This one is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Usually, in Canada, Vindaloo is "tourist spicy"—but not here. La Nawab doesn’t mess around. The Chicken Tikka is another standout—tender, flavorful, and always cooked perfectly. And if you’re looking for something sweet to finish off your meal, the Kheer is delicious, though a bit on the pricey side. But honestly, with the quality La Nawab delivers, it’s worth it. The rest of the menu is appropriately priced, especially considering the top-notch quality. You can really taste the difference—the owner grinds his own spices daily, and it shows. If you’re in the mood for some seriously good Indian-Pakistani food, La Nawab is where it’s at. Whether you’re dining in or ordering delivery, you’re in for a treat.

The server was polite but the service was a bit slow. The glasses we got at the beginning were very dirty and when pointed it out to server, he apologized and brought clean glasses and complementary samosas and bottled water. We ordered another portion of samosas, sweet lassi, chicken biryani and nihari beef with naan bread. The chicken biryani was excellent, and so were the samosas. However, the nihari beef was not as tasteful and was lacking a bit of flavour. Also, there was a piece of clear plastic in the nihari. The server apologized again. I also found a hair in the rice but after so many issues I didn't mention it to the server. So clearly some sanitary issues that I hope are solved because it's a very good and affordable restaurant. Very generous portions and good for the price.

I do not like giving small businesses bad reviews, but based on my experience this weekend and all the positive reviews online, I feel as though I need to provide an honest review of my experience. To be clear, this is my first (and last) time eating here.

Service:

They originally got our order wrong, which they eventually fixed. When we told them we were charged a delivery fee when ordering online and choosing to pick up the food, we were told that they could not do anything. They incorrectly assumed we used a third party website. When we explained that we used their website, they refused to rectify the issue. Even if they did not want to refund our money, they could have given us $10 worth of food to compensate us out of principle.

Then, to top it off, when we got home, we realized they left out the rice for two orders.

Food:

I cannot count the number of Indian restaurants I have eaten at in different cities in Canada and the US. Without question, this is the worst. The samosas were hard and dry, and what little filling there was inside had next to no flavour. The lamb korma had no flavour and the texture was reminiscent of boiled leather. The dal and chana masala had very little flavour as well. The naan looked and tasted exactly like the stuff you get at the grocery store, which is not what you expect from a restaurant. The butter chicken was ok, but that may have been because we were all hungry and everything else was so...
