La Patate Doree — Restaurant in Gatineau

Absolutely atrocious experience. From the moment we came in, everything was terrible.

The only staff member was an older woman, who was rude, abrasive, and acted like anyone coming in was unwelcome. We should have taken that as a sign to leave, but my friends and I were very hungry. Our mistake.

When she finally bothered to take our order, she was extremely unpleasant. She was angrily slamming and throwing things as she was making the food, and was in no rush at all. A long lineup formed behind us, but she didn't even bother to acknowledge them.

As if this wasn't bad enough, when we finally got it, most of our food was cold, and some of it was undercooked, or even raw. A couple of us got sick from it. It wasn't even worth going back to complain, as she obviously didn't care.

One of the worst experiences I've ever with any business, and a huge waste of money. Do not waste your time or money on this...

This place has been a classic for me for 20 years. Even though I no longer live in the area, when I’m back to visit friends I make a point of stopping by. Sadly this weekend marked a low point and I don’t know if I’ll come back again.

Service was friendly but much slower than usual. My steamy hot dogs were cold and the buns were stale and also cold. I could have dealt with that, but it was the poutine that made me really disappointed . Ordered “une grosse” that was skimpy on fries. Also fries were tough (overcooked?). The gravy was luke warm and gloopy of course that means the cold curds were unmelted. Basically, I get a better cass-croute experience when I’m in Toronto. Now that is insulting, right?!

I pray the owners correct this...

On attends pour 15 minutes, la dame nous ignorent tout ce temps. La sauce brune était brûlé, les frites aussi. Absolument allez ailleur, ça vaut pas votre temps :(

We waited for over 15 minutes all while this lady is ignoring our presence entirely. The sauce is burnt beyond belief and watered down, fries are reheated and then burnt, nothing is clean and there is not a single nice thing I can say about this place.
