It was our last night in Ottawa and we wanted to find a nice French restaurant for dinner. I had been eyeing this place on Google Maps all week as the reviews were impressive and looked like an interesting place to go. It was a bit of a hike for us as we didn't have a car but it was so worth the walk!

Our server from Algeria but I can't remember her name was awesome with us. Our limited French speaking skills were compensated by her fluent Spanish skills. So between broken French, English, and Spanish we got our order in and had fun doing it. We started with a nice bottle of Red French wine and a the Burrata tiède. She also brought us some AMAZING French bread and super delicious Canadian butter. Who would think butter could be that good but we have noticed butter in other countries is REALLY tasty. From the first sip/bite our eye's were rolling into the back of our heads with OMG moments of YUM!

Rather then order separate Entree's we decided to share the Seafood Platter as we really wanted to try some Canadian Oysters. We got that and oh so much more. Tuna tartare was great, huge shrimp, a lobster tail, ceviche in big scallop shells and some sort of Salmon pate with dill that was another OMG moment with an explosion of taste.

We easily spent two hours over dinner and the venue is really nice. Looks to have been an old house and has been so well renovated, modernized to accommodate tables in many different spots. This turned out to be great as it kept the noise down or at least isolated to different rooms. We started downstairs were it was very noisy and I was worried but that sat us upstairs were the noise levels were perfect. IF I ever visit Ottawa again I will definitely come again. I really wanted to try the Salmon Tartare, the grilled octopus and the steaks looked really interesting but no more room in our belly so we had to move on for...

I was taking my friend out for her birthday to Le Cellier and when we arrived and ordered, our cocktail didn't come with a straw, but did come 15 minutes after we ordered. Our glasses of water were empty until the waitress brought the cocktail, so another 15 minute wait. We asked how long our appetizer would take, and we're assured that they would come within the next few minutes as the restaurant was "busy" that night. However, we ended up waiting 45 minutes with no appetizer even after asking a second time. When it finally came, they brought the wrong dish ; shrimp instead of foie gras. We decided that we didn't want to wait another half hour for our mains and left the resturant. Overall, we felt ignored and extremely disappointed as we took quite a trip out to Gatineau to try this place out. The sever comped our cocktails, but that was the least they could have done. Hopefully this was just a bad night but we were left feeling like we weren't...
