Eggsmart — Restaurant in Georgina

I've had breakfast here 3 times in the last couple of months, and that's enough for me.

1st time wasn't too bad. Food was alright. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about either.

2nd time my bacon was burnt black, the toast was cold and the homefires were so over seasoned they were inedible. The place was almost empty but you couldn't find the waitress to send it back.

Went back a 3rd time against my better judgement. Ordered an omelette with white toast this time. Omelette looked way over cooked, but the waitress just dropped the plate and ran away. The whole omelette was dark brown and the edges were crispy black. I opened it up and the inside was totally burnt black. The cook folded the really bad side to the inside in hope that it wouldn't be noticed I guess. The brown toast that a received was also stone cold, like almost refrigerated. Homefries again were terribly over seasoned but this time they were also burnt on one side.

Again the waitress was absent until 20 minutes later. Offered to have the kitchen make another one, but I declined as I won't be putting anything from this place in my mouth again.

Still charged full price for a meal I couldn't eat. I won't be back to this location, or any other...

Well….. thought we would try Eggsmart again….( terrible service before ) It was Thursday morning, place was empty. Two tables had people eating.Waitress sat us down, 10 mins for menus. Finally took our order, poured us coffee. Waited forever for food, once it came the waitress said” I’ll be back with coffee “ and never came back !!!! She was nowhere to be found…..My toast was burnt black, eggs way overcooked but no one to complain to or send it back…… no coffee, no service…… nothing. Maybe we wanted to order something????? Sorry…NO. Finished what we could eat and went to counter to pay…. While my other half was paying( after we found the waitress) she mentioned about the toast …waitress snapped back quickly “ I’ll just take it off the bill” . No apology, nothing., didnt care as usual ( so pleasant..like last time) I said to the cook “ Worst Service Ever!” HIS REPLY……” YEAH I KNOW “ and walked away!!!!!! Didnt even start about the food …. Already knew how he felt ( Didnt care) Pretty bad when the staff even say its bad… Makes you wonder why the place is...

I debated posting this because the server was so great. But the owner clearly needs a wake up call.

This is a simple one. We are witnessing smaller portions and higher prices everywhere. But at some point it gets ridiculous. My spouse and I ordered avocado toast. Which is really hard to screw up. Although I must say, the cook nailed the poached eggs. Sourdough bread was good. Everything would have been fantastic except the owner clearly has a problem with the expense of avocados. There was virtually no avocado on the avocado toast. Rule of thumb is one avocado per plate, on two pieces of toast.

I am not going to say anymore. Just look at the pictures to witness for yourself the comically small amount of scraped-to-the-bread smear of avo.

I didn’t pay for the breakfast. The servers are great. I feel like the cook is great, but has his direction from the owner, who is skimping on expensive ingredients instead of just raising the price.

I gave one star for the review because the server and the cook did well. (Although, the cook may be the owner...
