Patra Pizza & Curry House — Restaurant in Gibsons

Was at the restaurant for lunch over the Canada Day long weekend trip with family and friends (group of about 17 people). The waiters seemed ok at first but got impatient with us - may be big group or our questioning about vegetarian/halal options - not sure why. A friend and I asked for their twin pizza (one cheese and one vege) they billed for 2 pizzas which was higher price. They did fix it later but won't let us split the bill because it would be "too complicated" for them... wow! They didn't give us extra plates or glasses to drink water. We kind of felt it would be too much to ask and didn't want to bother them. We did ask for extra glasses of water later on and for them. The pizza was great - this the 2 stars.

Our other friends also had trouble deciding and they seemed to get annoyed about the delay in ordering. While we were having lunch the Fifa match was going on and we did get a bit loud during the penalty shootout. The lady in the kitchen kept starring at us which was a bit weird. At no point during our visit were we asked if we needed anything. The env did not feel very welcoming. One of our friends got a really salty Curry but didn't mention to them since they seemed annoyed with is from the beginning and he didn't want to take it any further. The same friend was knocked on several times to get out of the washroom when he was using it. Very impolite indeed!

Thought we would give this place a try given their seemingly polarized reviews. Ordered a small heat wave pizza, saag and channa masala currys for $47. The price was really steep and the woman taking our order was quite kurt and impatient but figured we'd give them a chance if the food was good. They seemed really swamped given it being a holiday Monday and perhaps the staff were tiered but overall they were very short and condescending of the other customers in the store. Our order took about an hour to be ready, their did seem to be lots of orders coming in so this was understandable. When we got our food the pizza looked reasonable and tasted decent as you would expect from an average independent pizza place. However the channa masala was extremely bland but okay and the saag was straight up unpalatable by sight smell and taste it seemed to have been blended completely smooth and was indicative of being pre-made and frozen. Id don't like to write negative reviews but this was a very disappointing experience. I think Patras could have a lot more potential if they focused on their pizzas and simplified their menu by removing the wraps, burgers and Indian food - it would make their staff happier with less to manage, allow them to focus on making better food and speed up their cooking times. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Patra Pizza in Gibsons, and it was a truly fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the cozy and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a great meal. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home.

The menu at Patra Pizza offers a wonderful variety of options, but I couldn't resist trying their signature Patra Special pizza. It was absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like it. The toppings were fresh and generously spread, with a perfect balance of flavors from the savory meats to the vibrant vegetables. Every bite was a delight.

In addition to their amazing pizza, I also tried their garlic bread and was not disappointed. It was warm, buttery, and bursting with garlic flavor – the perfect accompaniment to the main course.

What really impressed me was the quality of the ingredients. You can tell that Patra Pizza takes pride in using fresh, high-quality ingredients, which makes all the difference in taste. The portions were generous, offering great value for the price.
