Fireside Adventures — Attraction in Gibsons

Fireside Adventures has been nothing short of life-changing for our family. Our son’s first adventure was in 2023 to Italy, which we still consider one of the most pivotal experiences of his life.

From the very beginning, we saw his transformation in real time, through photo and video updates of the group. He blossomed, gained confidence, independence, and resilience, as he embraced new cultures and challenges. He formed friendships and connections that have lasted well beyond the trips, and we always felt connected watching him flourish with every new step.

It was an easy decision to say “yes” when he asked to join two more adventures—first to Japan, and most recently to Fiji. Each experience has been so unique, with its own magic. What stands out is the diversity of the youth groups, the engaging and thoughtful leaders, and the way each trip offers something completely new while still holding true to Fireside’s values.

Over the past three years especially, Jeff and his team have provided opportunities we never could have imagined—experiences grounded in critical thinking, climate awareness, and what it means to be a true global citizen. These journeys have not only opened doors to the world for our son, but also helped shape the kind of person he is becoming.

We are forever grateful to Fireside Adventures for creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where young people can grow through exploration, challenge, and connection. Our son has returned from every trip more confident, more curious, and more compassionate. As parents, that is the greatest gift we could ask for.

Fireside adventures family homeplace camp was simply AMAZING!!!! I felt very lucky to have stumbled upon it on IG. I was hesitant at first that it may be too good to be true. The price was very affordable for what you get and at amazing Galiano! From the time I booked they made everything very easy. They were accomodating especially since the ferry schedule was limited/constricting. We loved all our leaders but most especially Allie! She gave amazing customer service! They had great activities for kids and adults. The food was top notch! You never go hungry! I felt at times it was too much and I was concerned about wastage. My teenagers took part in the Fireside Adventures Youth Leadership Program this past summer as part of the Adventurous Journey component for their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. They both enjoyed the seven day BC Explorer: Sechelt Inlet group canoeing trip. This was a new location for them to explore and Fireside Adventures did a wonderful job supervising and leading. During this trip they improved their canoeing, cooking, navigation and camping skills, and had some unique and enjoyable experiences, including viewing the magical bioluminescent water of the inlet at night.
