Can't believe we are reaching a point of paying almost $40 (with taxes) for a Chinese buffet. Just a few years ago you'd pay $15-20 (and that's weekend dinner, taxes included). I guess that this is our new reality?
Anyway, leaving behind the price, the first thing I'd praise is the staff. The owner was in the floor and was extremely courteous. And so was the waiter. My water glass was never empty and she was always checking if I needed anything. 5 stars for the staff.
Another 5 stars would go for the 4 features that would make me come come back: 1- Fountain soda is included in the price and you can serve it yourself (which is better than having to request it all the time). Although I much prefer can or bottled soda, I appreciate this feature; 2- They have steak that you can slice yourself. Although I can't say it was delicious. Kind of average; 3- Still in the meat realm, they have a grill close to the buffet where you can bbq your meat Korean style, with beef, chicken & shrimp. I'm not the biggest fan of Korean BBQ, but I do appreciate this feature, and finally; 4- Crab legs. Might be the high point of the buffet. They were really good.
The sushi on the other hand wasn't. But hey, this is a Chinese place not Japanese. Although, to be fair, many of the Chinese dishes were also a bit bland.
I guess you could come here and drink lots of diet coke and eat crab legs as much as your...
Read moreThe restaurant feels worn and outdated — from the dim lighting to the old tableware and furniture, everything shows clear signs of age. The air conditioning was barely working, making the dining experience uncomfortable, especially in August.
The food was a major letdown: very limited selection, mostly deep-fried items or low-quality pre-made foods. Nothing tasted fresh or flavorful. For a buffet that costs around CAD $40 per person, I expected much better — and frankly, you can find far better buffets across Canada at the same price point or lower.
What’s worse, the restaurant still calculates tips after tax, which is not common practice and feels unfair. There was also no clear signage about the buffet pricing, which makes the experience feel less transparent.
Definitely would not recommend, and I won’t...
