I failed .. I normally take pictures of my food .. I forgot 😅 but... I will be very much going back .. so I'll update the next time I go back. Wish I had the waitresses' name so I could have included it.
I have had their takeout pizzas before, so I knew it was amazing already. But had never dined in before.
It is very clean in there. And just about every staff member walked around with a smile( even though it was a busy friday). Our waitress was amazing, very friendly, not pushy at all, and let us enjoy the night out.
The starter bread was freshly made and came with garlic butter. It was so good I could have just sat there and ate it 😅
I ordered the Lg meat monster pizza, as always they are not shy with the toppings(even on take out they arent), and if I had to guess it's cooked in a dish of sorts. That yummy pan fried pizza (kinda like Pizza Hut but better). There are lots of fresh ingredients and cheese that will stretch across the table when u take a slice.
My wife ordered the steak dinner with roasted potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and onions, and it came with a seasonal veg( carrots, broccoli, and zucchini) . It all was hot, and the steak was cooked perfectly ( side note , do wish there was a 12oz opinion as well as the 6oz). The steak was AAA, tender and full of flavor.
Cost... you can easily these days waste 40 to 50 on fast food for 2 people these days. This bill was comparable to this, but the food was FRESH, HOT and much better value for you money! I would rather go there for date night or family pizza night(as we weren't rushed at all, even with half the seats filled).
It is fully licensed if you want to have a drink of most sorts, even a not bad wine selection.
Overall ...love it there .. and you get what you...
Read moreMy mom grew up in Grand Forks and we have been to The Omega once before, decades ago. It is a staple in Grand Forks but never stood out to us. We decided to try it this round as we were going through. We were pleasantly surprised. First off, our server was amazing. Jana was one of the best servers I have come across. She was pleasant, upbeat, kind and even dealt really well with my hungry mom wondering where our food was. The food did take a bit, but we felt it was worth the wait. My daughter liked her pizza, I really enjoyed my burger. An observation is that it is not fresh, but more of a sausage like consistency. Which I know many people don't like, but I don't mind and I felt the flavour was there and it was very juicy. I chose the burger over the fish and chips as Jana was kind enough to get me some Tatar sauce to try before I went with it. Tatar sauce is make it or break it for me. The Tatar sauce was very bland, I hope they change that, add more relish, dill etc...make it flavourful. The fries with the burger were some of the best I have had. I am sure they are Costco fries, but I always enjoy them at Costco, they are my favorite fries hands down. Everyone at the table loved them. My mom got the beef/lamb Gyro and she also enjoyed her meal. Overall we all enjoyed our food and the service. The atmosphere feels like it needs updating, but it isn't as dark as I remember it as a child. We will definitely be back when we come...
Read moreYou won’t find foie gras or microgreens here. No tweezers in the kitchen, no artfully smeared sauces on oversized white plates. What you will find at The Omega is something far more endangered: authenticity.
The Omega is unpretentious, the kind of spot where the coffee’s hot, black, and bottomless, and the servers call you “hon” or "sweetheart" like they mean it. Our server, Cindy greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile. She spoke of food with great enthusiasm and knowledge, because she eats at The Omega, and to top it off she spoke positively of her employment of 28 years and her wonderful manager, Michelle, as though they are family.
The menu? Comfort incarnate. Pizza, soup pie, homemade bread, and more, but no BS, just really good food. Highly recommend the housemde, flaky, rich spanakopita, with thr most flavorful tzatziti sauce and the freshest Greek salad. If I can't get back to Grand Forks, I might need to go all the way to Greece to get anything close to the same deliciousness.
The Omega isn’t trying to reinvent anything. It doesn’t need to. It’s a reminder that food doesn’t have to be fancy to be good — it has to be honest. And this place? It tells the truth in every bite.
Thank you Cindy, for the truly, genuinely...
