UPDATE TO REVIEW BELOW: As stated we are determined to support local businesses so we went back to The Bar and sat at THE BAR directly in front of the bartender and two servers going back and forth. It was not overly busy, certainly manageable by the staff that was working. 10 solid minutes without so much as an acknowkedgement that we were even there. Not a "hi I'll be right with you" or "be with you in a few minutes" Nothing. Just head down, no eye contact or smile. Zero. If you expect us to support you, we expect to be served, and at least feel your are glad we are there to help pay your wages and that tip you expect no matter how poor the service. Not sure how many more chances we can give this one. Just acknowledge, then serve your customers PLEASE Ordered chacuterie board because after ordering our first choice we were advised they were out (Cauliflower Wings?) 2 minutes later the next table was advised they were out of chacuterie board.. ours arrived , disappointing in variety and quantity. A dab of mustard a dab of blueberry "jam", miniscule amounts of meat and four pieces of uninspiring cheese. We would suggest two things, if that is your usual chacuterie, it needs inspiration, and second when the kitchen runs out advise servers immediatley so patrons don't choose what they really want and be told 10 minutes later that it isn't available. Other than that nice to see a proper of Guinness in Grand Forks. It's great to have your facility and it's understandable to have glitches on a new business to deal with. We...
Read moreThey would like feedback, so here is my experience:
Trying to get service during our visit was like pulling teeth. I ordered a drink first while my friend was still deciding, and the server came back to clarify my order and check my ID. She also checked my friend's ID, and then walked away when my friend started to order. She was unable to place a drink order.
When it was time to order food, we waited 20+ minutes after our drink order, while trying to flag down a server. After ordering food, the server then walked away before my friend could order a drink.
We asked for the bills when we ordered dessert, which is typically a sign that we would also like to pay. It wasn't until well after our dessert was finished that someone returned and asked if we wanted the machine to pay.
Maybe it was an off night, our dinner and my drink was good but the cake we got for dessert was quite dry, however based on the service we would not return. It didn't seem particularly busy, and I'd think at a place called "The Bar" you would want your customers to be able to...
Read moreEvery night's a good one at The Bar and Kitchen. Whether you come in to sit alone and enjoy some scotch only to meet new people and have a blast instead or you are the blast that is always smiles. Fantastic food to share, highly recommend the dirty truffle fries, wonderfully delicious, or if youre more meal oriented go for the Longhorn burger, absolute baller burg and I've had plenty. Every night I've stopped in, these lovely ladies have always been well intending and fair service. Nearly each night I have made new frens, each night has been a grandiose experience, each night I've gone to have just one I've just had to get more and stick around. Six outta seven, ten outta ten, fantastic place, wonderful servers , good selection of scotch. High recommend, especially to have a good snack in addition with some good frens. Oh yeaah, the Mac n Cheese, oh booyyy is it gucci, served actually hot, and gooey cheeseness, with the pulled pork is fan-bloody-tastic as a meal with some house special beverage. Stopping this review before it gets...
