Mary Brown's Chicken — Restaurant in Greater Sudbury

I came here to let everyone know what a wonderful experience it was for me and my boyfriend who had never been to a Mary browns, especially thanks to our man Barrington.

First thing we noticed when we walked in, was how energetic and thorough our front desk staff Barrington was when he was taking order for someone else. It took us a while to decide what we want, but he took the time to explain nearly every item on the menu. He was patient, kind, and knowledgeable.

Food is great. My bf pointed out the batter was very fresh and flavourful. Fries were freshly made, hot and crispy, best fries we’ve had on our cross Canada trip so far!

Upon our departure, my boyfriend was reacting to something (as he had been since the start of the trip) and coughing really badly. We didn’t want to give anyone a bad dining experience so we were going to leave. But our man Barrington even came up to ask if we wanted a water. We really appreciate the care and the willingness to push the extra mile for customers, and we feel absolutely awful that we didn’t have any cash on us to tip Barry with!

Placed an order at 11:30am for pick up at 12:25pm for lunch for my kids as we were heading to the cottage. Arrived at 12:30pm. Ran in quick to grab it as it was paid for. And waited. I waited until 12:50pm. The store was busy and staff were definitely overwhelmed but also ignoring customers.

Got out to my truck and handed the kids lunch to them. When I got to the bottom of the bag realized there was a kids chicken tender missing. Had the fries and the juice box but not the chicken tenders. Had to go back into the store.

What should have been a really straightforward interaction and easy issue to resolve was not. I was told quite rudely I needed the receipt, no problem had that on my phone as it was an online order. Also, again told quite rudely I needed the bag with all the contents. Are you kidding?? For 2 kids chicken tenders after waiting all that time for an order that should have been ready, you want me to go and take the food back from my kids to prove we don’t have it? Seems completely unreasonable and very poor...

Usually we have a good experience here but the blonde girl tonight was pretty rude. My wife and I ordered our usual. We always add a regular size pop-in's as a side as we loveeee them! She made a mistake and punched in regular wedges which is fine, we're human, it happens. I went back in to get it corrected and she made me go back out to my vehicle to get the order she incorrectly typed in before she would refund me. I don't mind that but a "sorry, my mistake" would have been fine. She was rather rude about it. I went back out, got the wedges and returned to the store. Our other food was getting cold. I refunded the wedges, gave them to her and watched her toss it in the garbage and she muttered amongst her co-worker about it as if we were a joke. I then paid for the pop-ins and left. My wife was pretty shocked about the whole thing. Not sure if we'll be back again after that ordeal. Mistakes happen but don't be rude about it and make us feel like we're not good...
