Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Greater Sudbury

Osmow’s restaurant which is in Algonquin road had scammed me twice this week. Today I ordered shawarma for pickup at 10:50 and i got a notification at 10:59 that my order is ready. I was right around the corner and reached there in just one minute. Exactly at 11:01pm. And I see the doors were closed and there is no one inside as well. I immediately contacted uber eats and they are saying they can not do anything about it and I was charged the full amount for something I did not even receive. Those restaurant people if they had to close it within a minute and leave , they could have at least called me once or cancel the order or wait till i get there. They just changed the status to order ready and left. Two days back when I ordered the same food for delivery, I ordered a super version which is a bigger size and cost 5$ more and I received regular version and when i called them and enquired them, they denied and said they sent the super one and started speaking as if I was trying to scam them. It’s really frustrating when you come home late night from work where you have worked for 12 hours and order food you can’t afford and ordering bcoz you are too tired to cook and these kind of things happen. This is the worst experience I ever had in Sudbury and the only reason I ordered food from there is because a old guy who works there was very welcoming when i first tried it. I was made aware that this happened to my friends as well from the same restaurant. The food is good, but if you dont want to be scammed by them, then dont order it online, better...

I'm not usually a fan of the salads served at fast food places (and most restaurants, because it's usually mostly wilted lettuce and a tiny bit of soggy tomato.) Osmow's on the other hand, had lively lettuce, delicious chunks of green pepper and cucumber, huge sections of firm tomato, all topped with pita croutons that exceeded my expectations.

However, I did not go there for the salad--I went for the Sunday Chicken Kebab Platter special (which included the salad) and they really delivered on taste, value, and quantity. The chicken kebab was sauteed to be even more flavorful, the sauces they topped the platter with complimented the overall flavor very well, and on a bed of flavoured rice it all blended well to make a nourishing yet delicious meal.

I'll surely be returning the next time I'm in Sudbury (in addition to going to their Toronto locations when I'm back home. Since it's a chain, I wasn't expecting much and may not have tried their non fries options before. I had to travel 350km to find out their platters are actually better than some of the pricier middle eastern cuisine in Toronto.

I haven't visited the other locations in Sudbury, but I surely hope this applies to them too: the staff at this location were friendly and fast, and the location was well set up with all necessary measures given...

Me & a friend grabbed osmow's a few minutes ago & we ordered. There was 3 people standing behind the counter & 2 in the back (one without a mask that looked like the manager & one wearing his mask under his nose & he came out to where the food was...)

We waited a few minutes & none of these 5 people were moving to start making our order so we were kinda of confused & in a rush & there was no one else inside waiting for their food....

Another one of their employees came out of the bathroom & all of the other employees watched & waited for this girl that just came out of bathroom to make our food... when we could of had our food 5 minutes earlier or they could have helped this employee make it instead of everyone literally standing around doing nothing..

Had to ask for sumac on my chicken on the rocks when normally it comes with it... food tasted really off too... after reading the comments seems lots of people agree that the chicken is bland & the sauces are tasteless & off.

Wish I had asked for a refund but I'm not that kind of person to complain but it was cringe worthy this whole experience. Looks like bad management & lazy employees.

Do not recommend THIS osmows ! I'm a regular at osmow's around Ontario & go 3-4 times a week... have never had...
