Dined in - over 20 mins before being given menus, thankfully there was a dirty paper one left on the table. Ordered 10 mins later, nothing crazy, won ton soup with noodles (for a child), Taiwan BBQ rice, 1 hot pot, 1 order of har gaw and 2 pancakes. (Note: hot pot gets cooked at your table by yourself.) Waiting over an hour and a half before asking for the child's soup - which lacked any flavour - honestly it tasted as though the 'broth' was just the package of noodle water served with wontons. We should have just left after this, as it took another 30 mins to receive the rest of our order - the rice dish, 2 simple appetizers and we STILL had yet to cook the hot pot (which half the items were frozen), our server said he would bring out the noodles once our broth was boiling - FYI the noodles are in essence a package of mr.noodle noodles uncooked and brought to you on a plate - I was fully anticipating a bowl of fresh noodles, but this was just so disappointing. Not only did it take over 1.5 hours to receive our meal, we also had to cook it (fully aware of what 'hot pot's is and that it is to be cooked at the table side, but could it not have been provided to us in a reasonable time frame perhaps 20 mins after ordering?). Overall, a very underwhelming experience and honestly probably will not return. The pancake was good, would recommend that. But...
Read moreSo a few things before I get into this review. I have celiac so I did not get to taste the food as intended but they did accommodate for the food allergy.
They have a few gluten free options on the menu. I went with the brisket on rice. 25$
So first off it's expensive. 32$ for 2 bottles oof waters and a bowl of sea weed salad brisket and rice with onion and a fried egg. In 2025 that's normal. I'm just poor lol. Beef is getting very expensive so I understand.
I had the brisket on rice. No soya sauce due to the gluten allergy and they would normally cook the food with those sauces. It came with a sea weed salad and a fried egg on top sunny side up.
The presentation was beautiful and the portion was big. Lots of food. I did not like the sea weed salad because it tasted like fish. The brisket was fatty but good. The rice was the star if the show. Excellent rice. And the egg was also great
One complaint was the amount of grease. I found that the rice was just full of it from the brisket. At the bottom of the bowl there was about a little under a half a teaspoon left over.
The restraunt was clean and the atmosphere was great. The service was amazing. The guy at the front who took care of the bar and served our meal was on point all around. Courteous respectful professional and an absolute pleasure...
Read moreI recently visited Peko Peko with my family, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, ensuring we felt right at home. The food was nothing short of exceptional. The braised beef noodle soup was a standout, served steaming hot with a rich, savory broth, tender, slow-cooked beef, and perfectly cooked noodles that soaked up all the incredible flavors. The chicken curry on rice was another highlight—creamy, aromatic, and packed with juicy chicken atop a bed of fluffy rice. It was absolutely to die for.
To complete our meal, we tried the brown sugar dirty tea, and it was simply divine. The rich, caramelized brown sugar blended beautifully with the creamy milk, and the boba pearls were the perfect texture—soft and satisfyingly chewy. It was the ideal sweet treat to round off an already amazing dining experience. With its inviting atmosphere, incredible food, and excellent service, Peko Peko left a lasting impression on my family and me, and we’re already looking forward to...
