Had dinner here tonight with a price tag of $59 and more after tip. I am still shocked that many people are saying that this is authentic Mexican food. For myself the guacamole has to have some lime flavour, and even a hint of onion or garlic to feel Mexican to me. It was not. If I had to place it, there was only avocado and some cut up tomatoes in the guacamole. We have been to Mexico twice before and had tastier meals for half of the price. The tortilla chips cannot be just the kind you get from a bag... how about some homemade ones? The rice that was served tasted like it had been canned... my tacos were decent, and my husband loved his chicken chimichangas. We enjoyed the mini tacos. Most of the seasonings on top of these items authentic to me. However, with the things I did mention as problems, this felt more like an Americanized version of what Mexican food should be. I was kind of disappointed to be honest. We had such high hopes for the place. This was going to be a two star review, but the people working there were so attentive to our needs. The woman who worked there even offered my husband a lemon to take home with us because his stomach was upset tonight (prior to eating there of course... I think he was getting a touch of the stomach bug) . Also the chef came out to make sure that nothing was wrong with the food when we had to suddenly get up and go (hubby wasn't feeling well) I hope that the owners will take the time to read the review and implement some of these changes. If those things were ironed out, we might eat there all of the time! I brought my leftovers home and ate them, but the guacamole still bothered me after I finished it... Mexican food is about flavour blends that tantalize your palate, not just ok food that mostly has been ordered from a North American food stocking company. Bring back the fresh ingredients and you will have yourself an awesome meal! I am not trying to dissuade anyone from this place... however I would compare it to...
Read moreOk, so I haven't eaten here in 20 years, and I had the chimichanga, which was just as I remembered damn delicious. However, my wife and son ordered tacos. My wife doesn't eat cheese and asks no cheese, when it was served to her and my son we all noticed that it was those Doritos nacho cheese Tacos from the grocery store plus they were super stale and unedible. My son ate his because he eats almost everything. Next was that the protein was pretty much non-existent, loaded with lettuce some tomatoes and probably about 1oz of chicken per taco. We were super let down by quality and quantity of those Tacos. I was hyping this place up all week to my fam because they've been there so long but all I ever had was the chimichanga so that's all I could go off of. You would think that if they're using low grade Tacos that the meat portion would compensate for that but not the case. Don't think I'll go there for Tacos. I gave the 2 stars for the...
Read moreStaff were extremely rude! I had ordered through an app and it wasn't ready and acted as if I didn't order it because they couldn't find the record of it and treated me poorly as if it was my fault. When they finally figured it out and brought me my take out order they just handed it to me with no apology or have a nice night or anything. I asked if they had a bag to put the container in (it was downpouring rain) and I had seen they gave other customers a bag for their food for take out and the server who gave it to me just looked at me and abruptly said no! And then proceeded to deal with a new customer who had just walked in. I usually look for authentic Mexican restaurants as my go to for evenings out and for business and I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone. The food I got from my one and only visit was okay nothing spectacular or worthy of recommending for authentic...
