What a find, this place was recommended to me a long time ago but I thought good thai in Grimsby of all places, no can't be. But now, I regret not dining here sooner. I don't eat meat so opted for the Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp. It was ready in 10 minutes, but don't let that short prep time fool you. When I opened the lid I was delighted, I knew I was in for something good. It was piping hot, the cucumbers a nice touch. The shrimp, wow, so plump, juices almost flew as I bit into the thick part. Enough shrimp for almost every bite to have a bit of shrimp in it. The rice was cooked perfectly and flavourful. I always check the bottom of the dish and to my delight there was no pool of oil. The veggies, so fresh, I dont believe any of it was frozen except for maybe the few green beans. The peppers were very al dente but thats ok. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and so fresh tasting, onions and green beans, a bit of egg. I enjoyed this from the first bite to the last. Now for the price, I did feel it was pricey when I picked it up, $21 and change, but after eating, I am 100% satisfied with the value I got for my money. I will be back again and again. I'm already planning my next visit, I just can't wait, will likely be this week. p.s I dont live in Grimsby so thats saying alot! Thankyou Grimsby Thai, please don't let the quality or consistency drop.

I order the Thai Basil Noodle dish for lunch and the dish barely had any basil in it. I called to ask if my dish was somehow mixed up, but their reply was for me to ask for more basil next time. The menu says it comes with basil and a Thai basil sauce that was non-existent on my dish. I essentially got pad Thai which is not what I paid for. I don't appreciate people not taking responsibility and passing blame on the customer when they fail to provide what was promised. I frequent restaurants often and are on the top 10 percentile of restaurant reviewers in Canada so I think I have a slight understanding of cusine, to say the least. I do not recommend this place based on their unprofessional way of handling an inquiry/concern and for their lack of respect towards customers by not even showing any sympathy or acknowledgement for their actions. People make mistakes so don't behave like you are perfect and deflecting responsibility on to your customers. An apology would have sufficed and I am not looking for a free meal. Writing this takes effort, but a warning to others makes it worth it, to keep businesses accountable. Lastly, I don't seem to be an isolated case with this experience.

Stopped by this place as we were in the area. Appetizers were great (wontons & mango salad), but the main meal wasn’t the greatest. For protein-dishes, they serve a smaller amount of protein (i.e: beef, chicken) and serve a lot more filler items to make the dish appear full. This is such a scam. For the crispy cashew nut chicken, there were more tofu and pineapple pieces than chicken. Hardly any cashew pieces, and the chicken had a fishy taste. For the beef, it was mainly thick noodles and a few small pieces of beef. That’s disappointing, and a scam for your money. For the basil fried rice, there was much chunks of broccoli than rice. The rice was also mushy/oily in comparison to other thai restaurants we’ve been to. Service was decent, our server was friendly but sometimes seemed out of the loop when we would speak with her.

We are so glad that we live almost around the corner from Grimsby Thai. That is where we get take-out on the nights when we just don’t want to cook-about once every five or six weeks.

We phone in the order and about 20 Minutes later dinner is ready to pick up. Or one can call in an order for pick-up at a later, specified time. It is always fresh, hot and ready.

Carol, the hostess and the usual friendly voice on the phone, knows regular customers by name. Her warmth is genuine without being inappropriate. Guests always feel welcome, and their business appreciated.

The food is wonderful. Everything is freshly made to order. The portion sizes are generous. We have adventurous palates and have been gradually exploring the menu. Everything we choose delights.

Vegetarian options abound because almost every dish can be made all-vegetable. Fish is treated with respect. Fresh basil is an unexpected bonus. And if Pad Thai is your favourite, four different kinds are available, two of which offer vegetarian, chicken, shrimp, and mixed seafood permutations. All of them are excellent.

Prices are reasonable, always good value for money spent.

The dining room is pleasantly decorated with Thai artifacts, but is not what one would call cozy. But the chairs are comfortable, the restaurant is always meticulously clean, and the wait staff friendly and attentive.

Visitors to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital or to any of the nearby retirement and nursing homes will find Grimsby Thai a welcoming place to have an interesting meal and to decompress.

I’m on my own for supper tonight. I think I’ll mosey on over with a book and settle in with crispy spring rolls and try the mango curry. With chicken or with shrimp? ... Hmmm ... The shrimp option will go well with the coconut milk, mango, sweet peppers, and basil leaves. .... Do you want to...

I invited my 3 grown children for dinner here to celebrate one of their birthdays. First I must say I had read the reviews and thought it would be a really good choice due to the location and the food reviews. All three off my kids love Thai food so I was pretty confident in my choice. Unfortunately, I hadn't counted on such a rude waitress. When I first went in I approached two ladies at the counter and asked if they could keep the little cake I had brought until after we finished dinner. It was for my daughter complete with candle. I got a sour faced....sure from one of them. We ordered a couple soda waters while we waited for the others to come. About 15-20 minutes later my other children had arrived and we ordered an appetizer along with our entree. My daughter was trying to order a glass of wine before the Asian waitress left, but it seemed to be a very big inconvenience for her as she rolled her eyes at my daughter and walked away. My son immediately said " did you see that? She just rolled her eyes at you? " My daughter , who's birthday we were there to celebrate looked completely shocked and said yes that she saw that too. I was going to call her over to apologize for her rudeness, but decided to let it go and focus on my kids. Another woman took over our table?? There was hardly anyone in the restaurant !! Over-all the food was meh..fair to okay. But the service, which can make or break your evening was unbelievably RUDE. Just for the record my children are in their forties and are well respected professionals, so their really was no bad behavior on their part. I would definitely not...

I called and placed a takeout order. The order was pretty straight forward i.e. Thai hot n sour soup and Basil fried rice. The woman who took my order (i do not know her name but she has short hair and senior) was rushing me as if there is a line up outside the restaurant and she repeated my order.

Took me 15 mins to get there, I walk in and no greeting, grumpy face she says what you got? I am like here for my order and gave my number. Picked up the food got home, tried the rice it was simply delicious. Opened the soup and it was wonton soup. I called them and the same woman picked up and she said well you did not order hot n sour but wonton. I am like i know exactly what i ordered and i know exactly what you repeated. She placed the blame on me and in response I said that well clearly you do not know the saying "Customer is always right". She called the manager/owner who basically took her employee's side and did not agree with me.

I went back to the restaurant, returned the wonton soup and picked up the thai hot n sour. Was given 4 spring rolls as a sorry for inconvenience. Got home only to realize that thai hot n sour was horrible.

In a nutshell zero customer service, rude people. People here who have given negative reviews, are spot on about the rude staff. The customer experience was horrible. Good food does not mean that I wanna be in a place where customer respect does not exist. People living in Grimsby/Stoney Creek try Thai Orchard restaurant, good food and good customer experience. Too bad they are...
