The Pizza House — Restaurant in Grimsby

I have always been a huge supporter of this business, raved about it to other and called it the best pizza place in grimsby…..however tonight I ordered a pizza at 6:40pm……8:20 and it’s still not at my house. So I call and get some woman(not good at dealing with the public at all) and tell her how I’ve placed a order at 6;40 and it’s not here. She puts me on hold. Then comes back to say “oh they didn’t take your number” repetitively. Sorry how’s that my fault?! When I called they should have known that I’d be calling regarding my pizza. Unless this is a standard practice where the number isn’t taken. So I ask will the pizza be cold when it arrives as I’ve been waiting almost 2 hours!!!! She assures me it won’t be. Obviously I knew it would be. So the pizza finally comes and guess what??? It’s cold!!! And I paid for this pizza!! I call again, obviously not happy about the situation. Get the same woman, And she tells me she said my next order would be 1/2 price HAHA never happened. And I’m not looking for a free meal. But what I was looking for was ownership for THERE screw up. I’ve been in the service industry for 20 years, I know how to handle a situation. But She decided to hang up on me because I was obviously livid and some other person called me back, and i appreciate him trying to defuse the situation, but was already far too escalated. I took my dog for a walk while I was visiting my mom in Grimsby. It was late at night and I needed to pick up a quick supper. I was happy to wait outside with my puppy, but he's only 12 weeks old, and I didn't want to leave him outside to order. I recognize the restrictions in restaurants, but I would happily stand by the door to order, wait outside, and then come in only to pay and leave. Subway wouldn't take my order, despite no one being in the restaurant. I walked next door to this place and they were so kind and so gracious! I was even given a discount on my meal. They had no idea that I am here to visit a family member in hospital or that we had already been turned away from another restaurant. The owner and his staff were so kind, the food was delicious, and I couldn't believe the price. I Highly recommend this restaurant for the great food and excellent...

Food isn't bad. Employees are very kind. Management is terrible. Used to be my go to pizza place until they started adding phantom charges to my orders (charges that don't show anywhere on any of their menus, which means depending who takes your order you'll pay more). When I asked to speak to a manager to see if I could work things out he smiled at me and told me to go somewhere in my own town, I live on the west border on Beamsville and Grimsby 5km from the store (have been a frequent Pizza House customer for more than ten years). The new management is terrible, I recommend avoiding this place at all cost. Much better options which way better management - Amici's, Noni's or Ginos as well as Beamsville for those who dont want to pay the "its in a different town" fee.
