Borealis prides itself in being "Obsessively Local". I assume this applies only to the food, as they let my wife inside, despite her being a Mississauga-grown foreigner.

As for the food's locality, I can't vouch. I did not witness them hunt down the "wild boar" I ordered, but I like to assume they did it in Riverside Park, in front of the playground, in the middle of the day, using locally-made spears crafted from the broken pencils and paintbrushes of this town's countless failed artists. If nothing else, the lack of car parts or metal shavings tells me it at least wasn't from the Willow area.

How was the food? Well, the boar portion was good, though I can't say I've eaten many wild boars in the past, but I can tell you it certainly tasted like pork and pretty good pork, at that. The rice and veggies that came with it were good, but a bit cold, but to be fair to the chefs, they were prepping for a whole group so I can understand a bit of it getting a bit cold.

The decor and atmosphere are good. I really appreciated the dim lighting, as it helped to hide the fact I hadn't washed my face that night.
