Gordon Sushi House — Restaurant in Guelph

Ordered for the first time for our traditional Christmas dinner for the four of us. The mangoes were definitely not ripe in the mango salad, chicken skewers were very very dry and seemingly unseasoned except for the tiny bit of sauce on top of a soggy piece of lettuce. The chicken wings look like they've been heated and cooled then heated and cooled about three or four times. Most of the sushi we had seemed small with wafer thin slices of fish on top. The Maki rolls were pretty good, but most things were pretty cold, nothing was warm.

I always hate trying new restaurants because this is the worry. You end up dropping $290 for what's supposed to be very good meal and you walk away with regrets, less money and...

Where do I begin? Ordered from here for the first time after a long day outside. I ordered the Veggie Sushi set which came with a green dragon roll, avocado cucumber roll, miso soup and salad.

Both rolls were delicious, the green dragon roll being among one of the best veggie rolls I have ever had the pleasure to try. Portions were good as well. The salad and dressing was excellent. Unlike any other dressing I have tried at other sushi joints. Miso soup again was a hit. It lacked the oily/ salty taste from similar establishments.

Food was ready promptly, and service was quick and efficient. I will definitely be back next time I am in Guelph!

Tried this place for the first time through Skip the Dishes. I had a craving for Katsudon, and they were the only place in town that had it. It was great! Tasted just like I remembered from Japan. Having it delivered may have made the breading on the pork a bit less crispier than it could have been, but I ate it up happily. My only critique.. please make a "lunch size", this was A LOT, with the miso soup, and salad. Had to have half as leftovers the next night. Oh, and their takoyaki was good too, I had it reheated later in the evening, but wager it is much better fresh. Would like to see some sauce and garnishing on it, but the mayo was good with it.
