When I first came in, no one was at the front. While I was waiting, I noticed a fly land on the fries that were already sitting there. By the time an employee finally came up after a few minutes, I asked if we could have freshly dropped fries. Right away, he seemed annoyed and gave us attitude.
What made it worse is how differently he handled my order compared to the customer behind me. For them, he prepared everything at the front. But when it came to my food, he gave me a strange look, prepared the fries, then took a plate to the back with the chicken. I could hear the microwave running, and also heard him coughing. That felt really unsettling.
When he came back, he used the microwaved chicken on my poutine, packaged everything up, and told me “the fries are always fresh,” pointing at the line and basically implying that I was the reason for the delay. The thing is, he would have had to drop more fries anyway since the previous customer’s order used up the ones that were already sitting there.
The whole experience was uncomfortable and honestly a little suspicious. Between the attitude, the coughing in the back, and the fact that my chicken was handled differently than the other customer’s even though it came from the same pan, I don’t feel comfortable...
Read moreI go to Lazeez weekly to get the chicken shawarma on rice. I go to the one on Stone Rd which is fantastic. The guy there is soo happy and a gentleman. I went to Clair Rd this time. Its special night chicken shawarma on rice OR fries for 9.99. I asked hey can you put some fries in mine time to try it, the guy at the counter straight just said "no". I said its either but cant you just put some in to try it. He said for the regular price. I said just do fries then. It was rather rude and theres no reason he couldn't have. Fries were even made already. So the other guy setup 4 trays of fries to then put the chicken on it. The first ignorant guy said something in his language (not from middle east or canada) and the guy removed some fries from each. I just shook my head this guy is saving pennies to upset customers. Usually the boxes are full up, not this time. After all was in it, it was flush to the bottom tray. Very little sauce too, was dry. Last time I go to this Lazeez. Young ignorant person trying to be bossy. I will go to Stone Rd so I actually get food for my money. Subway is the same on Brock Rd S. Very little toppings on a sub. What is wrong with companies hiring...
Read moreI used to love going here. The owner used to be very friendly, the food was good and the portions were at least adequate, if not better. These days the owner just seems pissed off at customers having the audacity to order food at his restaurant. Employees will stop in the middle of making your order to take care of a mobile order that came in after you place yours. The proteins may as well be parceled out with a teaspoon.
Today I watched them pick chicken off my chicken on sticks and put it back in the tray. I understand portion control, but when I order and pay for extra chicken it shouldn't be the same amount as if I hadn't. The chicken itself was dry as a bone. The wrap I had placed for a family member was busted open and soaking wet. They've also begun watering down the garlic sauce, I assume to get more life out of the container, which also explains why the wrap was soggy.
The food matches the vibe, and I won't be returning. It'd be nice if the owner fixed up, but I'll never know. Truly...
