Charger Gourmet Burgers & Poutine (HALAL) — Restaurant in Halifax

I tried Lazeezo when they opened new, and their shawarma wrap, which was a complete mess. The shawarma wrap contained dry chicken, with lettuce and cucumbers (I don't even recall tomatoes).

Alright, I gave them another chance. I tried them again, with their beef burger combo. The beef wasn't very marinated and was dry, along with fries were very soggy.

I gave them another chance, and tried their Tandoori chicken burger which was actually very good, yet expensive (I think about $10-$11, no pop or fries). Once the guy at the register offered to make it a combo for me, but I told him I didn't like the fries. He offered to substitute it with wedges. After paying, I realized the man charged me $4 to make it a combo, and over that $3 to make it wedges. Wait, you heard that right! I paid $7 for a can of pop and wedges PLUS $11 for my burger. That adds up to be about $20 after taxes.

I didn't realize that because I had a couple other burgers in my order, so I noticed this after paying. I didn't feel like arguing there with the people as I was with a group. I also heard they raised their dried shawarma prices from $5 to $8. Also, I'm not the only person who has had trouble with their products and prices. There's too many stories that I can't fit in one review. They just don't seem to improve. I'd rather eat McDonalds over this place, just not worth your...

Update 2021: I don't recommend the vampire slayer. The fries were burned and seemed refried. There wasn't enough sauce. The chicken was okay but on the dry side. I had good experiences with burgers in 2020.

Update 2019: The shawarma poutine and tandoori burger were delicious. Clean restaurant, plenty of parking and seating availability. I regret not visiting sooner. I highly recommend the poutine and burger and think it is the best poutine in Halifax.

Previous: Upon recommendation from friends, we visited Lazeezo around 9 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018. There was only one couple at the restaurant when we arrived. The service was quick and placing the order was easy. We ordered the Lazeezo Burger and Shawarma poutine. The burger's beef patty was tasteless, the bun was soggy and plain, and there was overpowering amount of artificial-tasting sauce. The poutine's shawarma meat was dry, and the fries tasted similar to frozen varieties in grocery store and did not have enough salt. I requested Uber for my refund they said I have to contact the store, I have contacted the store 10 times and tried to get hold of the manager or owner but they were always unavailable, finally today the guy said he could put me through the owner but he put me on hold instead and spoke to the owner himself and comes back to me saying owner said we can not do anything for you, I said I don't want my money back give me store credit, he said owner said nothing we can do about.
