I am giving this place a 1 star only because the server attitude changed in the end and deep fried California roll was ok.Firstly my friends and I came to have supper might I add it was my first time trying this place, my friends recommended it because they had awesome food and customer service few weeks ago.Now it started off with a wait of 1/2 hour before our order was taken and at the time we were the only ones waiting to be served and the restaurant wasn’t full. At around the 20 minute mark, two customers came in and they were offered menu and their food came out in record time, a second set of customers arrived who were also served before us… our sushi was made and sat waiting until theirs was made and they were served before us.When we got our ramen, the soup was luke warm not HOT but like luke warm.We spoke with the waitress and asked her if there was a way to reheat the soup and she said no but to her credit she said she could bring some hot soup to add to ours. Our server came over after with a shrimp tempura that I ordered and without any apologies she said she can reheat the soup but we decided we would take it home to reheat. Might I add the first server said she had no way of reheating the soup.Secondly I also need to point out that we ordered Tonkotsu bbq pork ramen and might I add the pork was not bbq it was like boiled pork no sauce nothing just plain which was ridiculous when on the menu it says bbq none the less After that experience I will not be...
Read moreI tried the Tokyo ramen and the Haru bento, both lunch specials. There was nothing wrong with the food, but there was also nothing fantastic about it either. Overall the sushi and ramen were both very mediocre and a bit disappointing considering the high rating.
The fish did not seem very fresh and had a dryness that contributed to its blandness that the soy sauce could not even help. The rice was also not quite soft enough, maybe due to being left out too long and having cooled off? The assortment of tempura were great and fried nicely which I thought was the most enjoyable part of the bento. The ramen was decent with the soup being a tad bit too salty but had a good texture. The ramen noodles were also nice and chewy, however the chasiu and egg yolk were both slightly overdone. The yolk should be more runny.
The restaurant itself is very casual and I think a lot of people from around the neighborhood dine here so it was quite lively. The staff are also very friendly and provide good service. It's fine for what it is, and I don't think there's anything worth raving about but that's just my opinion. Other reviewers seem to be...
Read morethis used to be like 8 stars for me. I've been coming here for over 9 years. I bragged about this every chance I could pleading to people to come to the restaurant. the previous owner was incredible, kind, the staff was wonderful. He made it a place to enjoy being in. you didn't feel like a random customer being rushed. There is also the massive price hike. The nigiri's are rough 3 dollars higher which is a lot, the chef rolls are a dollar or two higher and those are understandable and the combos are all roughly 9 to 12 dollars higher! So as oppose to going 1 a week because of the amazing atmosphere and unparalleled quality. With being able to get a few different items. I now go once every month and a half to two months and get like 2 items. and will sadly now go to lower quality generic places, because it's simply way too expensive now. I'm saddened to what the new owner has done. You'll get more money per transaction but people aren't going to come as often at all. but maybe once you weed out the faithful clients and get new ones i guess they won't know. just sad
Update: they raised the delivery fee to...
